BROKE JAIL..—On Monday night, Lewis
'Sherman, Edminger Rudy, David Cowan,
'and the celebrated " Corn Doctor." broke
jail and made good their escape. Sheiman
and Rudy were convicted at our last Quarter
Sessions', of a bee-hive robbery near Pine
Grovfl: The "Corn Doctor" was serving out
a senten;,o for stealiftg fifteen dollars from a
Miss_Kate Cherret, of this place. Cowan
bad been arrested on e the "Cheep of fornica
tion and bastardy, and was in jail awaiting
his trial. Sherman appears to have bevy
