Union majority
I met several boys of the 106th regimem. They
gave me their return ;ts being Union 10S, idem, S.
The 141st regiment voted all Union but two.
The following is the official vote tor Congress
in this (17th) District : ■ ■ '
; Barker. V. Johnston, D.
Blair 2r.54 220!)
Cambria..; 4 ~.165l 2ti<i4
Huntingdon ; ..253!) , ‘M‘>2
Aliffiin..... |..1407 140 G
From the above; it will be seen that Johnston
has a majority of 260 on the home vote, but this
is entirely overeome by the vote of the soldiers
from this county alone. Barker’s majority, on the
soldiers vote, so ffir as received, runs up to 400,
and will most likely go up £0 600 or 800, the usual
majontv of, the district.
Soldiers’ Vote_(in part)—So far as received
Barker has the following majorities on the soldiers
vote in the different counties ;
Blair county, • 1 y.j
Httmingddn county, 124
Miffitfc county, , oof)
Cambria county, g 3
But a small part .of the soldiers* vote has as yet
been received. The remainder will, of course, in
crease Mr. Barker’s majority.
