A class of maladies prevail to a fearful extent in the
Community, dooming at ieatt .100,000 youth of both sexes
annually to an early grave. Those diseases are very im
perfectly understood. Their external mahilestatiou, or
symptoms are Nervous Debility, Relaxation and Exnans
tibn: Marasmus or wasting and consumption of the tissues
oi the, whole body; shortness cf' breathing or hurried
iTsathiitg on ascending u bill or flight of stairs; great pal
pitation of the Heart; Asthma. Bronchitis and sore
Throat; shaking of the Hands and limbs : aversion to so
ciety and to business or study; dimness of eye sight, loss
oi Mombry, dlxilneas of the Heed, Neuralgia, Pain in va
rious pins of the body; Pains in: the back or limbs, Lum
bago, Dy#epsia or Indigestion, ihregnlarity of the bowels,
deranged secretions of the Kidneys and other glands of
the body, as Leucorrhosa or Fleur Alims, Ac. Likewise
Lpileiwjf, Hysteria and Nervous Spasms.
Voa in ninety-nine cases out of every one hundred, all
oi tbe above named .disorders, and a host of others nut
uametL.es Consumption of the Lungs and that most in
sidious and wily; fbrm of consumption of the Spinal
.Nervesekhown as Tabes Dorsales, and Tabes iueseuterica,
nave their scat and origin, in diseases of the Pelvic Viscera.
Hence the want of.success on the part of old school prac-,
lire in (resting symptoms only.
Dr. Andrew Stone, Physician to the Troy: Lnug and Hy
gienic institution, is now engaged in treating this class
of modern ..msladlip,with the; r mpst astonishing success,
’he treatment adopted by the Institution is new; it is
■wised upon scientific principles, with new discovered rem
edies-without minerals or poisons. The facilities of care
are such that patients can be cured at their homes, in any
part of the country, from accurate descriptions of their
case, by letter; and have the medicines scut by Mail or
express. Printed interrogatories will be forwarded on ap
plication.
