At the Walnut "Rip Van Winkle" will ba
represented this evening by Mr. Joseph Jeffer
on. .
A matinee to-morrow.
At thb Akch Llna Edwin and her dramatic
company will appear this evening In the drama
of Hank.
At tub Chesnut Mr. Davenport will have a
complimentary benefit this evening. The per
formance will commence with the jetUe drama
of Tlie Old Guard, In which Mr. F. F. Mackay
wlU personate "Haversack," after which Mr.
Tborne will recite "Sheridan's Hide." The pro
tean farce of The Widow' Victim, with Mr.
Craig as "Jeremiah Clip," will then be given,
and this will be followed bv an address suitable
to the occasion, from Mr. Davenport. The per
formance will conclude with the farce of The
Bull in a China Shop. This benefit will afford
the admirers of Mr. Davenport an opportunity
to show their appreciation of his efforts both as
an actor and as a manaeer, and we hope that
the house will be crowded to Us utmost capa
citv. The regular season will close to-morrow eve
nine, when a performance will be given for the
benefit of Mr. George Metkiff.
At the Mdsbdm, Ninth and Arch streets,
the drama of Tlie Octoroon will be represented
this even in ir.

Schbnck's Mandrake Pills.

A desideratum, long desired, was to discover
A remedy for disordered Liver that was as effica
cious as mercury and free from any of its injurious
results. After long and patient research in the
vegetable kingdom Schenck's Mandrake Pills were
discovered, having for their basis the Podophyllum
Peltatnm of botanists, but known in common par
lance as Mandrake, combined with other equally
-efficacious vegetable Ingredients, which Is peculiar
to Schenck's Mandrake Pills, and cannot be found
In any other preparation.
These Pills have been very extensively used for
years, and never have falledto relieve all derange
ments and disorders of the Liver, as thousands of
living witnesses can testify. In no one Instance
where they have been used, either by the smallest
child, most delicate lady, or robust man,
lave they ever produced any injurious
effects, but, on the contrary, the most
disordered Liver, in thousands of cases, by the use
of the Pills have been made to secrete a healthy
bile, as has been seen in the evacuations, restoring
this most important organ to a healthy condition,
giving to the hitherto unfortunate invalid restored
health, freedom from despondency, peace of mind,
and renewed happiness and pleasures in life.
