The Philadelphia Tresbytery, North, con vened in regular spring session at this place on Tuesday evening, as already anaouueed In your colatnns. After a sermon by the Moderator of the last Cession, Rev. Thomas Murphy, the presbytery was organized for regular business. The Rev. J. II. M. Knox, of Germantown, was elected Moderator. Rev. Joseph Bcggs occupied the position of Stated Clerk, and the Rev. M. II. Calkins and Elder Teter E. Hope were elected temporary clerks. The reading of accumulated minutes occupied the remainder of the evening, when the session adjourned until the following corning. I On Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock the pres bytery again convened, and was opened with prayer by the Moderator. Rev. G. II. Hammer, at his own request, was dismissed to the Presbytery of Lehigh. The following delegates to the General Assem bly, meeting next month at Chicago, were elected: M. B. Grier, D. 1)., and Rev. Thomas Murphy. Alternates Revs. E. P. Cowan and A. V. Is. Schenck. Elders Messrs. J. Ralston and Hatfield. Alternates Messrs. Bodine and liaker. An examination, in accordance with constitu tional usage, o,f Mr. Archibald McCullagh, li centiate of the Presbytery of New York, and Mr. John Peacock, licentiate of Central Presby tery, with a view to ordination, was proceeded with. The examination was sustained. Mr. McCullagh having accepted a call to the Second PresbyteriauChurcu of Germantown, Wednesday, May 3, was appointed for his ordination and in stallation; and Mr. Peacock having accepted a call to the Presbyterian Church ef llolmesburg, April 28 was fixed as the time of his ordination end installation. A licentiate from the M. E. Church, Mr. Henry F. Mason, was taken under the care of pres bytery. An address upon the subject of Ministerial Education was delivered by the Rev. Dr. Spear. Afternoon Session. The Rev. C. H. Ewlng was, at his own request, dismissed to the Pres bytery of Chester. On motion, it was resolved that hereafter the two Presbyterian churches at Neshaminy, Bucks county, be known in presbytery as the First and Second Churches of Neshaminy, in accordance to age. 4 o'clock P. M. was appointed as the hour for the children's meeting. The Sabbath-schools were out in force, and rendered most delightful music. Addresses were delivered by Revs. E. P. Cowan and W. A. Jenks. A resolution was adopted that the presbytery designate Bristol, Pennsylvania, as the place for the fall stated meeting, the first Tuesday in October. Eveniko Session. Devotional exercises, inclusive of the administration of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, took place. The Mode rator presided, and a large congregation were In attendance. After being dismissed the Pres bytery at 0 P. M. resumed business, discussing a resolution with reference to certain restric tions pertaining to licentiates. A committee of five was appointed to report. The Second Presbyterian Church, Norrlstown, was granted leave to supply its pulpit for six months. The resolution passed at the afternoon seislon, with reference to the Neshaminy churches was rescinded, and Instead the respective names of Warwick and Warminster were attached as ori ginally designed to distinguish these two churches located In Bucks county.
