in the Filtcenth ward, to Thirty-second aud Bridge
Btreets, in the Twenty-fourth ward, a length of
about 3730 feet.
Proposals will be received for the bridge super
structure over tne river, including all materials,
workmanship, and erecting ready for use. It will be
340 Jeet span, of wrought iron, and also two trusses
for Thirtieth street, 80 feet span, of wrought Iron.
Detailed plans of these bridges, conforming to spe
ciOcatlonH, to accompany proposals.
Proposals for all the Iron work on approach will
be accepted separately, to be erected complete for
use, as per plans and specifications.
And separate proposals for the graduation and
masonry, to Include, curbing and paving, as per
specifications and plans.
Each bid must be made upon blanks prepared, other
wise they will not bo accepted, and every bidder
most submit the names of two persons of undoubted
responsibility, who will be bound with them as secu
rity for the faithful completion of contract. The
city reserves the privilege of rejecting any and all
bids that may not be satiHfactory.
Payments will be made monthly in bonds of the
city of Philadelphia, or in cash, at the discretion of
the Mayor.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certificate
from the Law Department that a proper bond, for
the turn of five hundred (."oo) dollars, has been filed
there, in accordance with the ordinance approved
M ay 28, lsoo.
The contractor or contractors, in making their
proposals, shall do so with tho understanding that
if their proposal shall be accepted every dispute or
difference which may arise Incident thereto shall be
decided by the Chief Engineer and Surveyor, from
whose decision there shall be no appeal.
All bidders are Invited to be present at the open
ing of proposals oilered on said day, at 8 V o'clock.
Plans may be seen and examined attiie Department
of burveys, where specifications and blank propo
