THE DAILY KVKNING TELEGRAPH PHILADELPHIA, F1UDAV, JANUARY C, 1S71 A SINGULAR WILL CASE. Mow Ha Immense Fntntx I. oat by a ef the l'en. The 8t. Louis Times of a recent date says: An Interesting suit was filed yesterday "in tlio Clrcu't Court, by 8arah J. Howell, against the Home of the Friendless and William U. Jame son, executor of the estate of William II. Dull, in which site states thnt she is n slater of the late Major William II. Bell, and that about the year 18-4 and during the life of her brother she married Dr. William Howell, who died in 1850. She is now a widow CO years old. Her brother at the time of his death and for a long time pre vious resided in this city. He was a veteran flicer of the United States arxy, and was soventy-tro years old when he died. For' some " time previous to hi death he wns very infirm, both in mind and body. On the 27th of November, 18(55, he undo a will. The complainants clulm that he was then, and for a lone; time previous, of sound and disposing mind; th;it in the will he left to Mrs. Powell "ono undivided fourth of the balance of his cfctate of every kind whatever;" that his estate was worth not less than $350,000, and that his debts, etc., did not exceed $5W. On the 8th of December, 18155, he made a codicil, giving to Michael Welbey -flOiO, and on the 14th of the same month, in auother codicil, he revoked the bequest to Mrs. Powell, and do vised one-half to the Home of the Friendless. The next day he bequeathed to Andrew Auer 51200. On the 18th of December, in still another codicil, he directed that the leasehold, corner of Olive and Fourth streets, should remain as then for two years from the date of his death, when it was to be sold. Tho will was admitted to probate on the Mh of January, 18(50, and Wil liam V. Jameson was appointed executor. Plaintiff claims that she is the person described in the will, as the doctor had uo sister named Sarah Powell: that tho person who wrote or drafted the will and codicil by a clerical mis take wrote Sarah Powell Instead of Sarah J. Howell. It is further charged that he was not of sound mind when he mala tho codicil of December 14. and an opening up of the matters in the estate is therefore asked for. The CUT Amusements. Travel through any region where the malady prevails, and all who have tried the preparation will tell you so. Thousands of families in the Ohio and Mississippi valleys, and on the borders of tne South ern rivers and swamps, regard It as a specific for the complaint. Nothing could Induce them to be without it; and they begin to take It regularly at the commencement of tho spring and at the close of summer, as a safeguard against malaria. They show their wisdom thereby. Tho shivering plague passes their ctoor without Intruding, to smite their neighbors who have shown less forecast. Every year, however, the number of these Improvident victims decreases. There is no teacher like expe rience; and when a shaking and burning sufferer sees his friend on the next farm or plantation In per fect health, though breathing the same atmospheric poison as himself, he learns that this exception to the complaint la due to Plantation Bitteks.
