On Monday, January 9, a season of six nights and one matinee of German opera will commence at the Academy of Music, under the management of Max Ma retzek, Ksq. The company is largely composed of artists new to the American public, and it has jast completed a very successful season of nearly one hundred nights in New York. Among the new singers are Madame Louise Lichtmay, Mad'lle A. Rossettl, Mad'llo Bertha Romer, Mad'lle Laura Haflner, and Messrs. Carl Bernard, Edward Verllng, Adolph Fra noech, Ernst Ulstrem, rnd J. lloelzl. In addi tion to these Messrs. Uabelmann. Ilimmer, W. Formes, Bteinccke, and others will appear. The chorus will be large, and there will be a full orchestra under the direction of Mr. Neuen dorf!. The repertoire for the week will be Fidelio, Tannhanser, The Huguenots, Merry Wire of Windeor, Don Giovanni, Magic Flute, and The Czar and Zimmerman. The subscrip tion price for the seven performances is fixed ut $7, and the sale of subscription tickets will commence on Tuesday morning next, at the store of F. A.
