John Lynch has been renominated for Coupress from Maine, Jasper Packard from Indiana, and William Smyth from Iowa. In the United States Senate yesterday, after the close of our report, the Tax-tariff bill was taken up and various amendments were adopted. The prragraph reducing the duty on bituminous coal and shale to "0 cents per ton was struck out, leaving the rate as at present. Consideration of the bill was continued in evening session. In the House the Currency bill was dis cussed, and the conference report rejected yeas 3, nays l."2 and another conference was ordered.
