Illy All Aire, B Yesterday afternoon, Stephen ltosson, eight years of sge, fell overboard at Spruce street wharf, Delaware, and was drowned. The body was recovered and taken to the house of ttie parents, No. 324 South Front Btreet. The corner-stone of the new bnilding about to he erected for the Northern Dispen raTy of 1'hiludelphia, on their lot, Coates street, near Sixth, was laid yesterday, in the presence of the managers. The building will be 42 feet front, three stories high; first story of Franklin stone. Miss Ann Shorter, colored, residing at No. 1722 Addison street, aged 45 years, was badly burned about the body last evening, while filling a coal oil lamp near the gas. Her clothes were alAo burned almost entirely off her person. She was removed to the Penn sylvania Hospital. A fire broke out about 12 o'clock last sight in the distillery on Kent street, above Twenty-fifth, owned by Daniel Barker. The fire, which is supposed to have been the work of an incendiary, originated in the roar of the first floor of the structure, which is a two story affair, built of brick. The building was entirely consumed. The loss is about $4000, covered by insurance. ' The annual meeting of the Episcopal Divinity School was held yesterday afternoon in the Church of the Epiphany, at Fifteenth and Chesnut streets. A. R. Edmunds pre sided. Three children were killed in Brooklyn on Tuesday by the caving in of an embank ment near which they were playing. A proclamation has been issued by the uovernor or bt. i nomas, placing the island again under the protection of Denmark, in consequence of the failure of the treaty with me umiea estates. In the United States Senate yesterday. after the close of our report, pending the con sideration of the income tax section, a recess was taken until evening, when the Texas Paci fie Railroad bill was considered. In the House the llollin White Relief bill was taken up, and after a sharp personal de bate between Messrs. Farnsworth and Butler, tailed to pass over tne President a veto. Jacob Belville, of Mauch Chunk, after an expiana. tion of the chart, made a motion that the Lehigh Presbytery consist of the counties of Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Car bon, Schuylkill and that portion of Luzerne county lying south of Wilkesbarre Mountain, 1 be resolution was discussed and adopted. A resolution offered by Dr. Herrick John son was carried unanimously constituting the Philadelphia south, Central, and North Pres. . bvteries. The South is composed of territory south of Market street; the Central between Market street and Allegheny avenue, and the North Presbytery that portion north of Alle- gheny avenue, including Bucks and Mont- L'omery counties. Dr. Dales then offered a resolution consti tuting the Cheater Presbytery, to be composed of the counties of Delaware and Chester. The resolution was adopted by a large ma jority.. - A resolution by Rev. Mr. Cowhick was carried unanimously, forming the Presbytery of Donegal, to be composed of York, Leba non, and Lancaster counties. It wan decided to give the name "Westmin ster"to the presbytery embracing the counties of York, Lancaster, and Lebanon. Judge JesBup moved that the .Presbytery of Mon trose be composed of the counties of Susque hanna, Wayne, and Pike, and the township of Nicholson, Wyoming county, also that Eart of Luzerne county north of Lackawanna ridge, in Lackawanna township. A substitute offered by Rev. Mr. Logan, Erovided that the Presbytery of Lackawanna e composed of the counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Wayne, Wyoming, Susquehanna, and that part of Luzerne county north of Wilkesbarre mountain. Motions were then adopted, making the newly-formed presbyteries the legal succes sors of the pre-existing presbyteries. The Synod then adjourned to meet again at 0 A.
