Upon enter ing the Park, at Green street, the 1'ark gnard And keepers, tinder Captain Louis M. Chas tean, were observed drawn up in line, with the 4th Regiment Band playing Hail Colum bia. The cortege passed on to Hweet liriar Farm, where eighty-three cadets of the Lin coln Institute, in charge of Captain Billings and their lady teachers, were drawn np in line . on the play-ground, and Balnted the visitors. A halt was made here, and the chil dren were addressed briefly by Gnstavus Kemak, Esq., and lion. William D. Kelley. Fggeling'a plRy-ground restaurant, at this spot, was handsomely decorated with flags and bunting. The party then continued on its way to George's Hill, passing a plain of l.0 acres, either on which or on one of K!0 acres on the east bank of the Schuylkill it is proposed to erect the building for the international exhi bition. FassiDg over Georgo's Hill, the desti nation of the party, Belmont Mansion, was oon reached, the arrival being welcomed by the firing of a Balnte. The Mansion restaurant of Mr. Adolph Froskauer not being large enough to accommo date the party, a large four-sidod teut had been erected, the entrance facing the wefct. The rear wall immediately facing the entrance was covered with Hags from the floor to the top, gracefully festooned. Around the walls wtre hung banners bearing the arms of the several States, encircled with ever greens and separated by flags. Evergreens, banners and Hags were festooned and waved over head in all parts of the tent and the cen tre pole of the tent was concealed by like decorations and dressing. From a common centre radiated four tables, marked respec tively A, B, C aud D, on the back of the cbairof thecbuiriuau encircled with evergreen wreaths. About 7 o'clock the party which, upon first entering th Park, had been taken in charge by the 1'nrk Commissioners, sat down to sup per. Beside each plate was a handsome bouquet for the guest. Table A was presided over by the Hon. Morton McMichael; table B, by Major Fox; table C, by Gustavus liemak, Esq.; and table D, by General Geo. G. Meade. Speeches were made by Hons. Morton McMichael, N. B. Judd, 8. M. Wilkinson, D. Cleveland, General Meade, Chief Justice Thompson, and others. Among those present were Hon. William Strong, Judge of the United States Supreme Court; Judge John Cadwalader, United States l)ihtrict Court; Chief Justice Thompson, of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; Judges Allison, Ludlow, Faxson, Stroud; the Phila delphia delegation in Congress; Hon. Lippincott, Wm. Sellers, John Sellers, Vincent L. Bradford, William II. Gatzmer, and many others of equal promi i.eBce. Before Alderman R. R. Smith yesterday xnorniBg, Alfred T. Tolon and W. C. Tolon hud a hearing the former charged with i ssanlt and battery, with intent to kill George W. Goodwin, proprietor of the dollar store, and with sending him a challenge, and the Utter with aiding and abetting in the assault. The testimony was to the effect that about Lalf-past 7 o'clock on Thursday evening Mr. Goodwin was on his way home, and at Fourth t.nd Spruce streets he met the defendants. Allred, without any provocation whatever, r ished at him, and drawing a knife cat him several times aboat the face, besides other wise maltreating him. W. C. Tolon took no part in the attack, nor did he endeavor to prevent Alfred from carrying out his mur derous intentions. A lad was arrested yesterday on the charge of appropriating money which he had been sent to bank to deposit by John Elliott, No. 317 Walnut street. Mr. Elliott, on a tearing before Alderman Kerr, testified that Le had placed eighty dollars in the boy's pos session to deposit in bank, which he had not done, but an entry had been made in the de posit book, as if written by the bank officer. The lad was held to answer. St. John, Philadelphia, and Mary Com manderies of Knights Templar arrived home last evening from Williamsport. They were met at the depot by delegations from all the commanderies in this city, and by Cyrene Commandery, No. 7, of Camden. The mem bers of Cyrene were in full uniform, and the others in fatigue uniform. The procession passed over a short route, and attracted much attention. i Mr. William R. Leeds, the nominee for Sheriff, was serenaded at his residence last night. An excellent collation was provided, to which the company did justice. Speeches were made by Messrs. Stokley, Leeds, and others. i The Fountain Society, of which 'Wilson C. Swenn, M. D., is President, contemplate erecting several fountains in the neighbor hood of Bedford and other similar streets. , The afternoon session of the Sweden borgian Convention yesterday was occupied in the reception and reading of reports. J Domestic Affair. Gold closed yesterday at 112j. The internal revenue receipts were $758,533 yesterday. A caucus of Democratic Congressmen was held in Washington yesterday, to secure concert of action on public measures. The Mechanics' Bank of Louisville was robbed of ifcOO.ooo in money yesterday even ing in a most daring manner. A meeting of the Senate Select Commit tee is to be held to-day, to draw up a report on the Hatch case. This done, the Senate will resume consideration of the Ban Domingo treaty. President Grant's Cuba message meets with much praise from the Spaniards in Ha vana. A hope is expressed that Congress will send a special commission to the island to ascertain tbe real state of affairs. Hon. Amos T. Akern&n's disabilities under the fourteenth amendment were re moved by the bill .approved on the 14 th of December last. The Senate yesterday re ferred his nomination to the Judiciary Com mittee. Secretary Boutwell proposes to pay the German bondholders eighteen millions of our undue debt this present month. In conse quence of this sublime folly being continued, taxation ef everything in the country must be continued. In the United States Senate yesterday, after the close of our report, the House bill construing various pension acts was con curred in. The Post Office Appropriation bill was considered, and an amendment was adopted fixing the rate of letter postage at two cents. In the House some District business was Forrlgn Alfn.tr. An er.rly dissolution of the Chambers is not contemplated by the French Government. Napoleon was better yesterday, accord ing to one dcFpntcb; another denies that he was ill.
