ETXNWfJ TKLOSAf a Omoil Saturday, Mar 14, 1870. t The money market is somewhat unsettled this morning by the heary demand for call loans resulting from the sudden reaction at the Stock Board, and the equally sudden rise in the prices of all classes of Investments. Under a more stringent condition of the money market the heavy demand upon the banks for stock loans would have created a serai-panic, but as it l,the full supply of available eapital has enabled them to fill all orders withoat further effect upon the market than a slight advance in the former rates. We quote loans easy but active and unset tied at 56 per cent, on call, and at 6(5)7 per cent, for choice business paper. The latter con tinues scarce but in better supply than for eeveral days past. Gold is less active and weaker. Sales opened at 114 and fluctuated between that figure and 114 up to neon. Government bonds are also quiet, and, in full sympathy with gold prices, are a fraction lower. There was a sharp demand for Reading Rail road, which was sold up to 52". There was nothing doing in Pennsylvania stock, but it was 6teady at 506. PHILADELPHIA. STOCK EXCHANGE SALES. Reported by De Haven A Bro., No. 40 s.
