Koote replies in the J'retM and Times of this morning to a portion of ex-President Johnsou's speech, iu which he asserts that Johuson charged him with Ingratitude. He denies the charge, and avers that he owes nothing to the forbear ance or generosity oi Johnson, who, he alleges, together with Mr." Seward, treated hiin unkindly and cruelly. He denounces Johnson as a seces sionist, to whom the people of Tennessee are indebted for disfranchisement; charges him with usurpation aud tyranuy; admonishes the people of the Southern States not to be con trolled byhlm, .but to accept the legislation of Congress and have confidence in Gen. Grant, who, he assures them, is their friend, and desirous to restore them to prosperity and good government. Hi? also charges that Mr. Johnson is opposed to ncjjro suffrage and political equality, and refers to Mr. Johnson's luterview with Frederick Doug lass, in which he said these things would lead to a war of races to sustoin him. Ex-President Johnson is still in Nashville, having abandoned his proposed trip to Europe, preferring to devote his time and energies in behalf ot the disfranchised of the South.
