The following changes and transfers will be made in the army as soon as the necessary urrango mcnts can be made and proper traimportatlon pro vided. The regiments to go to tho extreme north will be moved as soon as navigation opens: Kegimentsof Cavalry. Firnt. The commanding general. Division of the Pacific, will make such change in the station of the companies of this regi ment, and at such times as in his Judgment the health of those serving in southern latitudes and the good of the service may demand. Regiment of artillery Second. The following light batteries will proceed, without delay, to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and report to the command ing general of tho Department of the Missouri, who will select a suitable poht at which these and Light Battery B, 4th artillery, shall bestationed. In order to carry out eil'ectually the system of instruction in light artillery practice, a field ollicer of artillery will hereafter be designated to command the post. The four batteries of the 1ft artillery; Light Bat tery K, 2d artillery; Light Battery A, 3d artillery: Light Battery C. Battery K, 1st artillery, will turn over its horses to the Quartermaster's Dopart partment to be sold, and will take tho battery to Fort Leavenworth. The quartermaster will trans port the horses of Battery G, 4th artillery, from Detroit to Fort Leavenworth for this battery, and purchase such new horses as may be necessary to make up Its complement. Battery A, 2d artillery, will . turn over Its battery to the ordnance ottlce at Benicla, and its horses to the quartermaster, to be sold, and will proceed, via the isthmus of Panama, to Fort Leavenworth. The Ordnance Department will supply a new battery, and the Quartermaster's Department new horses for this battery at Fort Leavenworth. Batterv C, 3d artillery, will march across the country to its new station. The following batteries wil) be dismounted, and until farther orders there will be but one mounted battery to each regiment of artillery.
