Our Washington correspondent, in LU lettor
Of February 7, reoltod the charges which are

in the Clerkship of that body at the opening; of
the sessions of the Forty-first CoDgress. Mr.

these chanres, for which, in justice to him and
for the sake of presenting both aides of the
question, we make room. The letter reads a8

CONSUMPTION.
LIVER COMPLAINT.
AND DYSPEPSIA,
If tnk-pii according to the direction. They are
all three to bo taken at tbe same time. They
cleanse the stomach, nlax the liver, and put It
to work; then tho appetite becomes cood; tbe
food dlgebls and makes good blood; the naUcut
begins to prow in flesh; the dispaBod matter
ripens In tho lungs, and tho paiient outirrows
tne disease ana gets well. This Is the only way
to cure Consumption.
To these three medicines Dr. J. II. SCUESCK
of Philadelphia, owes his
UNRIVALLED SUCCESS
In the treatment of Puluionnry Consumption.
The Pulmonic Sjmp ripens tho morbid tua'.tcr
in tho lungs, nature throws It oil" by an easy
cjpectorrttion, for when the phlegm or matter
is ripe, a slight cough will throw H off, and the
patient has rest, and the luns begin to heal.
To do thip, the Scuweed Tonic and Maudrake
Pills must be freely ucd to cleanse tho stout tch
and liver, so that the Pulmonic Sjrup aud food
will make good blood.
SCHENCK'S
MANDRAKE PILL3
Act u pen the liver, removing all obstructions;
relax the ducts of the pall bladder, the bile
starts freely, and the liver is soon relieved; the
stools will show whut tho pills can d; nothing
has cvtr been invented except calomel (a deadly
poison, which is very dangeious to uje uiiIhss
with gtcat care) that will unlock the null blad
der and tart the st'crollou of the liver like
Scbtnck'. Mandrake Pill-.
Liver Complaint, is one or I lie most l'rouii
miit Causes of CouMiiuntioii.
SCHENCK'S
SEAWEED TONIC
la a pen tic stitnu.nnt ami alterative, and t tie
alkali in the seaweed, which this preparation Is
made of, iif-s-isis the ."toiuaeli to throy out the
gastric juice to dissolve the food with the Pul
monic Syrup, ntid it is made' info ood blood
without krmcutation or somiu the stomach.
THE GREAT REASON
Why physicians do ust cure Consumption K
they try to do too much; they ulve mellcine to
stop tbe cough, to etop chills, to stop night
sweats, luetic lover, and bv so doing tiie.y
derange the whole digevtivc powers, locking up
the etcreuons, and eventually tho patient sink
and dies.
Dr. fcCIIENCK, in his treatment, docs uot'try
to stop a cough, night sweats, chills, or fever..
Remove the cnue, and they will all stop of their
own accord. No one can be cured ot Conunip
tlon, Liver Complain Dyspepsia, Catarrh, C tn-
kcr, Ulcerated Throat, unless the liver and
stomach are made healthy.
If a person has consump'.loti, of course the
lungs are in some way diseased, cither tuber
cles, abscesses, bronchcal irrita.ion, plueral
adhesion, or tbe lungs are a mass of inrli'nmu-
tlon and fast decaying. Iu such cases what
must be done? It is not only the lungs that
are wasting, but it Is the wholo body. The
stomach and liver have lost their power to
make blood out of food. Now the only chance
is to take Dr. BCHKNCK'S three medicines,
which will bring up a tone to the stomach,
the patient will want food, it will digest easily
and make good blood; tneu the patient begins
to gain In tleh, and as soon as the bady begins
to giow, the lungs commeuco to ueai up, and
the patient gets fleshy ttnd well. This Is the
only way to cure Consumption.
WHEN TI1EHE IS K0 LUXtt DISEASE,
And only Lire' Complaint and Dyipepsia,
Sihenclc's Seaweed some and Mandrake
Pith are snj)ici:ntt without the Pul
monic )rip. Take the Mail'

Consumption, hii physicians haviu? pronounced

and since bis recovery many thousands simi
larly atllicted have used Dr. Schenek's prepara
