an assistant will nrder the nearest engiues to
give three signals in succession with their

detach tie hose connecting therewith. To
tender this rule effective, engineers of steamers
are requested not to nsc the whistles or their
engines on the fire ground, except for giving
i bio signal; and tbey are especially warned not
to imi'ate the signal, unle 8 ordered to do so by
the officers herein specified.
- V. llo&e companies and hook and ladder
companies will, immediately upon the removal
cf the nose or ladders from tbetr carriages or
irucks, cause their respective apparatus to be
r u oved a reasonable distance irom the imme
diate fire ground, so that every facility to the
building on fire may be secured.
VJ. Where a line of hose is in service from a
plug which Iihb been given to a steam cneiue
company, the suction ot the engine must not be
attached thereto until the engine is otherwise
fully itady to go Into service.
VII. All c mpanles must refrain from leaving
their respective bouses on alarms coming irom
a district bcyoud their bounds.

The contractor will be required to transport
stores by land in the event of failure by water;
