The Improvement have nil born completed,
and the Library build ma was thrown open for
the inspection of the public last evening. The
Library now nresni" a very neat and laity
appearance. The ex'erlor of the building, taa
been repainted and the interior U replastered
and painted, and presents tho appearance of a
new edlUce. The fim floor ts the trim'
library and "the upper room Is for boys,
llitudtome oval counters have been erected ou
cither floor, with block walnut tops and with the
panels painted in tmitaion of walnut and
maple. The Mislvlni? is entirely new, and H
painted in imitation of oak. l'lie celint? of the
upper room ha been raised, and all parts ot the
building Is well ligbted. At the so a' h 'ml of
the building tliern whs a lot 12 feet in width on
Fifth street by 48 feet iu depth. Th'3 lot has
been pnrchacd and a building erected thereon,
the upper room of which Is connected with tho
bojs' library room, and will be used as a rearing

rented out as a More. The stock of books has
been increased, and the oil ones have been
overhauled, renumbered, ete. A number of

A meeting of the friends ot Irish liberty

Alumni ot the University of Pennsylvania was

Prldaet Richmoud, 16 years of age, residing
in Cedar street, near Cumberland, was found
last evening lying in the btreet in an uncon
scious condition. It is supposed that she was
run over by a vehicle, and that the driver was
not awnre of the occurrence. She was removed
to hex home.

knowledge of the Government that a baud of
fourteen perfons had started from llavani for
the purpose of creating an Insurrection in the
Vuelta Abajo region. On the 11th instant the
rural police succeeded in arrestingtwelve of the
party at Pan Cristobal. Senor Agulve, a mer
chant of Yaras, who is cbarp'd with receiving
arms and ammunition tor ihe revolutionists,
has been arrested, and was brought, here yea
terday. Balniasedo has arrived at Maozan'lllo,
whence he issued a proclamation, giving tbo
revolutionists eigat days to lay down their
arms.
