Tub Journeymen Brick-makers. The tip
town joumfy trie n brick-makers held an ad

Hall, Glrar 1 avenue, above Sixth street. The
Biinntca of the previous meeting were read and
tpnroved.
The reports of the Committees were then pre
Bcnud, showing that some ot the men had none
to work under prices. Members of the Associa
tion, who are receiving the advanced waees
theu contributed one dollar each to support
the strike.
A motion was made to appoint a Committee
to confer with the employers in relation to a
compromise lor wage. An animated discussion
theu took place, members opposing the propo
sition to compromise with much, earnestness.
The proposition wan finally withdrawn.
Amotion to reconsider the ninth article of
the By-laws, prohibiting members from working
in jards whore men are employed under wages,
was adapted. Hud a resolution allowing men to
work in such yards was passed. Ttiu follow
ing resolution was also pa-sed:
Jxno'ted, That all members of this Associa
tion who have cone to work for less than the
Association prices are expelled from all rights
and privileges of this Association.
The meeting then adjourned.

Accidents. A horse driven by Robert Allen,
residing at Frank'ord road anf Hart's lane, took
fright yes erday at Eighteenth and A'd low streets,
and ran oil'. In his coure he up-et tue carriage,
throwing Mr. Allen W'th considerable force
jipainst the cobble-stones, injuring him badly.
Eliza Shields was admitted iut i the ho-ipit'al
yesterday with a fractured thiuh, which she re
ceived by talliucr from the root of a house at
Fourth and Christian streets.
James Wallace, airod ten years, fe'l from a
cherry tree at Frank ford road and Allegheny
avfuue, jestirday a'ternoon, and broke a leg.

The last of Ihe prizes in this district, cap
tured during the war is about to be disposed of.
It is the fcteumer Cotton Planter, which was
taken on the lOih of May, 1SG5, alter the sur
render of General Lea and his army. A question
which enters into the case U, was the Rebel
army w holly disbanded at the time ol the cap
ture? The United States will be able to show
that a battle was fought afier it capture, and
tbat fome of the Texas troop (hi not surreuder
for several weeks afterward.
A distribution of the proceeds of sales of
contraband whisky, tobacco, and other property
to the amount of $50,000, is no being tuide.
After the coBts arid expenses are taken out, tbe
remainder is equally divided between the Gov
ernment and the iuloraier, if the gross sum Is
not more than $5000. Heveral of the Revenue
Inspectors will leceive a con-lderable sum.
The battery of the Young Men's Keystone
Club, under the charee of Captaiu John Ward,
arrived home at 8 P. M. last evening. The ciub
had the honor of tiring the first gun for the Pre
sidential nominee, and weic the last delegation
to leave New York city.
A meeting of the First Divl-ion. Twenty
sixth Ward Grant and Colfax Campaign Club,
will be bold at the Precinct House thu evening,
at 8 o'clock.
A meeting of the Journeymen Hat Finishers'
Association will be bold this evening, at Dili
gent Hall, corner of Tenth und Filbert Btreets, at
8 o'clock.
A new counterfeit has made its appearance
