The Ravaged of the Cholera at Havaaa.
From Havana, July 4. the New York t ribune's
correspondent writes as follows:
in a letter addressed to the Tribune in Janu
ary last a lew facts were furnished concerning
the malady then raging lu Havana. What was
then asserted has beeu verified within the last
two or three weeks. Bad provisions have, witn
the aid of warm, sultry weather and coutlnu-il
.rains, produced the same stale of things as then
existed; and to-day the nllioial nnuounceinent

The proper orders were yesterday expedited by

cholera that Is classed as epidemic or sporadic,

deaths were reported, aud this in a population

traceable to bad provisions. Four or five died

our fashionable streets, but no other deaths are
reported from the same street. These people
bad been living blub, eating too much, and

who take care of themselves, eaving proper
diet, aud limited in quantity, enjoy good health;
and in this class no conipluiut is heard of siclt

I.ham O. Harris. The Nashville corres
pondent of the Chicago 7 ribune eays: "Isliam
G. Harris ia practising law in Memphis. The
indictment against him for treason in the
'United States Circuit Court at Nashville has
inst been dismissed. Mr. Harris was Gover-
knor of the State in 1SU0, and probably did as
rmuch. or more than any other man to carry
Tennessee into the Kebellion. He is the only
man who ever served three terms as Governor
of this State. He is a tolerably fair lawyer,
but is much in the Andrew Johnson style,
and is evidently a great admirer of that indi
vidual. His service during the war wa3 con
fined to acting as volunteer aid to dilTereat
generals. He was one of the 'last ditch' men,
and iled to Mexico after the fall of Richmond.
In the Kebel colony of Carlotta, between the
City of Mexico aud Vera Cruz, he plied the
jack-plane and haunuer, aud built for himself
a habitation with his own hands. He came
back to the States last year, relying upon the
clemency of Governor lirownlow, who had re
commended Lis pardon aud the withdrawal of
the heavy reward offered for his production
Lefore the proper courts to answer the charges
of treason and conspiracy. Ha meddles not
with politics, but devotes himself entirely to
Lis profession, and shtiuks from anytliiug
like publicity.
