The Committee on Property of the Board of School Controllers held a meeting yesterday alternoou, for the consideration of 'applications received at the last stated meeting of the Board, from the Sectional Boards of the Fourth, Fifth, and Eifthth Wards, for the extension ot better facilities to Borne of the schools In said sections. The applications are favorably considered, and will likely be recommended at the next stated meeting of the Board. The church basement of primary school No. 1, to the Eighth Section, which Is damp and badly lighted, is asked to be changed to a better and more suitable place, and from the Fourth Sec tion, air-tight gus-coneuming heaters are asked or the new school-house at Twelfth and Fitz water streets. The Board of Directors of tho Thirteenth Sec tion forwarded to the Controllers, at their last meeting, a lengthy communication, In which they state that the new school-hoase at the N. W. corner ot Sixth and Coates street was origi nally estimated at a cost of $52,375. The sum appropriated by Councils was $45,500, making a difference in cost of $6875 more than the amount appropriated. Upon communication with the architect certain chanees were agreed upon, which elicited a bid for $44,375, an amount within the appropriation. Case of Mutiny on thk IIioh Seas. A further hearing in the mutiny case of William Kelley, second mate of the ship Autocrat, charged witn mutiny, was had yesterday, be fore United States Commissioner Sergeant. Captain Albert U. Burro well was examined in support of the charge. The First Mate, a seaman, and the Steward of the vessel were called, and corroborated the Captain's statement in all the essential par ticulars. Amos Briggs, Erq., who appeared for the de fendant, subjected the witnesses to along and severe croso-examination, but failed to elicit any further facts of importance. The defendant and a common seaman of the vessel having procured a warrant for the arrest of the Captain, on the charge ot inhuman treatment and assault and battery on the high Bea, the Com missioner decided to dispose ot both cases before rendering a decision. Both cases were continued until next Friday, the prisoner being released in the meantime on ma own recognizance. The Firemen's Parade. Last evening a meeting was held at the house of the Perseve rance Ilose Company, tor the purpose of per fecting the arrangements for the reception of tec Eagle Hose Company, of Buffalo, N. Y., which will take place this afternoon, on their arrival at Tblrty-tirst and Market streets.
