Seated one day at or'w J
I was weary aali 11 e i ;
And my lingers wan lerel. lk y
CVer tlie xioisy keys. '
I do not know what I wa playing
Or vrbat I was dreaming then ;
Lut I struck onw cLori f musio
Like the sound of a givat Amen.
It flooded the crimson twilight,
Like the close of an Ansel's Psalm,
And it lay on my fevered spirit
With a touch of infiDtt calm.
It quieted pain and eorrow,
Like love overcoming strifo ;
It seemed the' harmonlotn echo
From our diaoordant lit.
It linked all perplexing m ;,nui m
Into one perfect pim:H,
And trembled away int' silence
As if it were lotu t''vij.
I Lave sought, but h, vainly
That one lostctior l divia,

And entered into mia.
It may be that death,' d bright aap-nl ;
Will speak in Dint ohor i azaiu,
It may be that only in heaven
I shall hear that grand Amen.
