The luonnment la built of the best Italian
nimble, on the (Jorlnthian order, and stands 12
feet 8 Inches in hetcht. The base Is ot llpht blue
marble, in i untie blocks, and on it la a moulded
base and die, on which tbe following inscription
is cut in raised letters:
'Joeph H. Kennard, D. D.,
Born April 24, 17i8:
Died June Z4, iou.
For fifty years an auibtwador of heaven, pure
in life, abounding in labors, God crowned him
with preat success and the people with their
reference."
On the die stands a fluted Corinthian column,
eurrounrted with a hanisomeiy carved capital
supporting on nrn. on which hangs a wTealh of
laurel, carved In solid marble.
The design of the memorial by the church
committee, and the execution of the work by
artists of this city, reflect credit on their
judgment and taM.
A Railroad Accident Results Fatallv.
The train on the Delaware and Rantan Bay
Railroad which left Lon Branch yesterday
afternoon ran over a woman who was walking
on the track, and mangled her In a most terrible
manner. The unfortunate woman had two
children with her, both of whom escaped In
jury. At the time of the occurrence the train
was paesine through apiece of woods and It is
auppi Bed that she was so terrifled when the
locomotive aporoached as to lose all presence
ot mind. The train was stopped alter the
occurrence, and the passengers, among whom
were several promlneut Philadelphians, made
up a purse to aid in tbe support of the children.

The Teach Market. As an instance of the
extensive expectations of peach patrons as to the
extent of their crops, one mauufacturing house
alone has received orders for 100,000 boxes or
crates, each to contain a bushel. One ot our
steamers plying to Georgetown, Maryland, takes
down 20CO per trip, while along Delaware avenue
the produce merchants are preparing likewise
for the coming trade. Eome few parcels of fruit
from Norfolk, Virginia, are already on sale.

Horticultural Societt Meeting. A stated
meeting of the Pennsylvania Horticultural So
ciety took place last evening, In the basement

on exhibition were much admired. From this

been totally destroyed In a gale on the Sth day ot Janu
ary last, a buoy now marks tbe site where It stood.
