The deaths lrorn consumption of lungs amounted to HGl, au increase ot 04 oyer the number lor the corresponding month of 1866. Burglary Attbmptkd. About 2 o'clock yes terday moriiini? an attempt was made to enter the dwelling of Stephen Myers, No. 1231 8. Sixth street, by means of nippers. The lady of the howe, hearing the noise, looked out of the second-Btory window, and discovered two men picking up their burglarious implements from the door step, with which they hastened away. The key of the front door was found on the floor. The marks of the nippers were plainly visible. It was the noise caused by the key tail ing on tbe floor that awakened tbe attention of Mrs. Myers, and prevented the burglars irom teriDg tbe bouse. The fact of the key falling evidence tbat the burglars were not very roit at their nefarioas business. Installation Services. Rev. A. A. Willitts, .. The larger of the two was lying at anchor in midstream, tbe tide run ning a strong ebb, when a collier, heavily laden, collided witn her with such force as to dismast herself, and drag the other vessel from her anchor, and both drilled down stream. The anchor ot the larger vessel grappled and tore away at least one, if not both, of the two cables connecting Philadelphia with various points in New Jersey and the East.- Homicide. Henry Schnetter, the German who was admitted into .the hospital, on the 25th ult., with a severe wound on the bacK ot his neck, died there yesterday from his inju ries.
