Mode Rohbeiiies. An iron safe in the base
ment of the Friends' Meeting House, at Fif
teenth and Race streets, was opened by some
unknown person, on Wednesday night, and a
box containing Government bonds and city
loans to the amount of $2100 carried off. About
SfiOO worth of tbe bonds are registered, and will
therefore be of no use to the thief. They be
longed to Mary Holland, and were tbe savings
of years. A package containing about $30,000
was overlooked by the robbers. The Friends
held their convention In this building recently.
The fact of the fire proof bting In the meeting
house was not generally known, hence it is
tomethlng of a mystery how a thief obtained
any knowledge of It.
We learn that a somewhat extensive place of
business, located in the vicinity of Walnut and
Fifth ttreets, was entered a few nights since,
and tbe lire proof was forced open and robbed.
Tbe great probability is that robberies occur
almost nightly in different parts of the city, but
as a general thing many of them are never
made public, on the supposition that publicity
would defeat the ends of Justice.
Fkacas rear the Paper Mill. Last even

the party received black eyes. Two of them

CERTIFICATE FROM THE STEWARD OF
UHE LANCASTER COUNTY HOSPITAL,
Lancabtkr County Hohpital,
Lancamtkh, l a., January 5, 1887. )
During an extended experience of three years as
Superintendent ol the Lancaster County Hospital and
Lunatic Asylum (Institutions which contain from 275
to uuo patients, tbe whole ol whom are under my care),
I have had many opportunities ot witnessing the me
dicinal virtues of Mlshler's Herb Bitters. As a con
sequence attendant on the character of such an In
stitution, ihe great majority of cases are of a very
complicated character; and In most Instances are of a
hopeless nature. Shortly alter my connection wllh
this Institution a very bad case of I'll v lea I Lebiliiy
a d general prostration attracted my special atten
tion, aud from the reputation which Mlshler's Herb
Litters had obtained, I imagined Its use would be at.
tended with good results. I caused It lo be adminis
tered, and found that It fully Justified the opinion I had
formed of It. Tbe success 1 had met with in this case
encouraged me to still further test It, and I have since
used It in a great many casesof Rheumatism, Scrolula,
Secondary syphilis. Asthma, and various other dis
eases, andtnvariably with the best results. In many
Instances, when otber remedies bad failed, Mlshler s
Herb Bitters restored them to perfect health, and
enabled them to leave the Institution aud earn
their own living, thus releasing the county from
charge lor tbelr support. I am ibereTore convinced
that ilu-hler's Herb Bitters are really what the pro
prietor calls tbem, "A cerlalu Remedy" lor the Dis
eases for which they are recommended.
