MEDICAL.
JUDICAL ELECTRICITY
Lnttit and Most Important Discoveries
In th Treatment of Clironlo
Diseases.
DR. S. W. BECKWIT1TS
ELECTRICAL INSTITUTE,
No. 1220 WALNUT Street. !
During ourlnvestlEatlons In the treatment of dls-
ease In its various forms by the asoncy of electricity,
we have obtained very many valuable aud startling
facts, which, added lo the previous Ibough limited i
InlormatloD possessed by other and less fortunate '
operators, place us beyond all previous knowledge of j
this mysterious agent. During tbe course of our prac
tice we have treated and cured, through the know-
ledge thus gained, many thousands, aud by means of '
our new discoveries bave established ourselves as the i
most successful Medical Electricians la this country
or Europe. ,. , ,. ,
Electrical investigation has proved that the human
body acts on the principle of the galvanic battery.
Tbe brain, mucous and serous meruoranes, the skin
tissues, and fluids, constitute the negative and posi
tive lorces, and every action, whetber mental or phy
sical, Is the result of these antagonistic lorces. Diges
tion, respiration, circulation, secrellou, uud excretion
are due solely to electrical lulliieuce. There is a polar
action established throughout tbe nervous system
which connects with every part ol the body.esiabllsu
ug and preserving a proper balance of tha oleclri'cal
element which constitutes health, and a disturbance
of which causes disease. There are strictly but two
conditions ol disease one ol Inflammation or posi
tive; the other, weak, debilitated, negative aud as
electricity contains these two conditions la the action
of tbe positive and negative currents, all we have to
do Is to neutralize the disease and restore proper
healthy action.
Among tbe chronic diseases In which electricity has
been and Is dally being, by our agency, of the greatest
utility, a cure being rapidly ellected after the failure
ot all other means, are:
1. Epilepsy, Chorea, or St. Vitus' Dance, Paralysis
(Hemplegia), Neuralgia, Hysteria, Nervousuesa, Pal
pitation ol tbe Heart, Lockjaw, etc.
2. Sore Throat, Dspepsla, Diarrhoea, Dysentery,
Obstinate Constipation, Hemorrhoids, or Biles,
Bilious, Flatulent, and Fanner's Colic, a .id all alloc
lions of the Liver and Spleen.
a. Catarrh, Cough, Influenza, Asthma when not
caused by organic diseased of the lieuri), ll.ouoliliis,
Pleurisy, Pleurodynia, or Rheumaliaiu ol Ilia Chest,
Consumption In the early stages.
4. Gravel, Diabetes, aud Kidney Complaints,
5. Rheumatism, Gout, Lumbago, Still Neck, nal
Curvature, Hip Diseases, Cancers, Tumors (those last
named always cured without pain, or plustern lu auy
'"s.UUterus Complaints, involving a mal position, a
