Election BiunF.RY Classified. The Lancas
ter election commission in England finds that
of 1339 persons who voted at the last election,
excluding about 20 since dead, 932, or more
than two-thirds, were bribed in Bums varying
rom 2 to Jt'24. Tho number bribed by each
party was about equal. Of the total number
4ti0 were town freemen, 34!) country freemen,
.jUid J23 householders. Subdividing them
into classes, it appears that out of 41 mer
chant, manufacturers, and professional men
upon tho register, three received bribes; out of
8 voters described as of no occupation, and
gentlemen of independent means, 13 received
tribes: of 93 book-keepers, clerks, assistants,
etc., 25 were bribed; of 25S tradesmen, includ
ing publicans and lieer-houso kef iters, 70 wero
bribed; out of 400 artisans, 371 received
bribed; and of 32!) Pinall shopkeepers and
laborers, 2bl were bribed.
More Mastodon Uosks. In dip-giug away
the debris from around tbe western end of the
new Harmony mills, at Cohoes, the workmen
on Thursday'afternoon found another portion
of the bones of the mastodon, consisting of
tho radius, or lower part of one of the fore
legs, and four bones of ft foot, rrofessor Hall
went up on Friday, and brought the new dis
coveries with him on his return to Albany.
