A rather neat operation in the "Jack Sheppard" style was perpetrated at the County Prison recently. This is the third or fourth escape from the prison in the manner described. In order to accomplish it, bricks in the arched ceiling have to be removed. This is done by picking the mortar from the Joints between the bricks. As there is an officer sta tioned in the corridor, whose duty it is to look into the cells at stated periods, it seems almost incredible that the work could have been done without attracting his attention. One of the fugitives was serving out a four years' term. Anoiheb Fenian Meeting.
