The following account ot one of Bishop
Wuiteliouse's episcopal act9 in Hweaen is trans
lated from the Stockholm Aflonbladet:

nu'ucod at 10 o'clock in tbe morning, when Bishop
Henry John Wbltehouse, assisted by four English
clergymen, wearing their proper vestments, entered
tbe churcb, and proceeded along the nave to tbe
chancel, reciting the twenty-lourtli psalm, tbe Bishop
and clergy reciting tne verses alternately. The
Bishop then took his plaoe on the right side of the
altar; on tho left the Archbishop Keuterdahl bad
also a place providou for him, and seats on tho leit
glue of the chancel were appropriated for
tbe Bishops of Suudberg, Bring, aud Flenuburit.
Dishou Wnitehouse received the instruments of
donatioD, which, after being read, were laid
upon the altar. Standing then before the aliai,
the Bishop invoked tho blessing ot Gad on the
sacred work, after which he oneied up prayer,
partly kneelmcrland partly turned towards the con
negation. Thereupon one of the nngliah nrloots
tho Rev. K. H. Blak6y, stepped forward and read
tbe deed of consecration, which was also laid upon

as that lead in our churches every Sunday.
"l'tio Niceue Creed, the common symbol of both
churches, translated irom the tame Latin source
into words singularly similar in sound, was repea'ed
at tbe same time in both languages by all persons
present, each in his own tongue, the Archbishop
leading in Swedish. After tbe one hundredth Psalm
bad been sung, the Bishop delivered a most eloquent
sermon, which showed him to be possessed of a
most spirited eloquence and 1 owerrul delivery
