Kxtra Telegraph I Tie Government is going to establish a Tele graph Company of Us own, nnd is now in the market to purchase poles. Is our Government going to imitate Russia Why can't it leave the .Poles alone? , THE CAMP FENIAN EXPLOSION. The Battle of Waterloo-Colonel Na poleon Bonaparte O'Neill Cone Under-Steamer "Michigan" a Second St. Helena. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Home of thb Buffalo, June i.k gentleman just from the other side states positively that at the battle of Waterloo, yesterday, there were no pikes found in the Lake opposite that place, nothing but catties hare been seen there. The Ulegraph announced to-day that General Meade and United States Disteict-Attorney Dart had gone to Pot, but a further despatch finished the sentence by adding edam, which the operator bad neglected in his fright to send with the first despatch. The report that Head Centre Day is captured Is not true. It was, indeed, acknowledged that the Kanucks had won the Day, but it did not allude to the Head Centre of that name. He is here in safety, superintending the manufacture of Pontoons for crossing the Lake: the Irish soldier), having been on the Potomac, can march to toons of that nature without having to keep step. It was reported that OENBRAL 11RAVS AND STAFF would pass through Watertown on Wednesday. Many of the residents who were watching out for his staff saw him carrying a sword instead, which fact gave rise to many warlike rumors. The Genejal was on his way to capture 9 jveeney, but as Sweeney and 150 Fenians were on the same train of cars behind General If eade, and the orders of the Railroad Company being very tilct about "parsing from car to car while the train is in motion," prevented General Meade from capturing Sweeuey and the 150 Fenians on the spot, , , Nine cases of arms and fifteen cases of cholera were landed here this morning, and were imme diately seized by the United States Marshal. , The arms were turned over to the authorities, and several of the citizens took the cholera. There is a repot t of a fight between two Fenians on the Canal north of here. Tbey are employed as drivers on rival canal boats. It is thought that the riot will be quelled. Ninety one armed Fenians were captured by the United States sleuuier Michigan without difficulty. If they had had two arms, the ninety would probably have shown some fight. The British colors captured by tho Feulans at the battle of Rldgs way were such as belonged to a Boat Club there, and were only water colors, and, of course, were bound to run. The Captain of the steamer Michigan now has so many Fenians boarding with him that he says he is tired of the FENIAN BOARDER INVASION, and acknowledges that he can't keep a hotel. General W. Barrow has removed all restric tions on travel from Bufalo to Fort Erie, which added greatly fo his name. He is now called . General Wheel Barrow on that account. The excitement Is in tents around Fort Erie, where the English troops are encamped. The United States authorities at St. Albans are using evtry effort to preserve neutrality, but the Jars tbu frequently occur in the neigh borhood arc not preserving jars, and it is thencht by many that unless things are pre ferred in their present state tho whole town would be in a pickle. While I write there are seve; al 111 FENIANS PREPARING TO MOVH to the country, chiefly on account of the high rents in the city. r 1 be rumor that an attempt would be mmlu to capture the Bank at this place (which Is situated twenty feet above high-water mark), caused a sudden removal of deposits therefrom last night. The run made upon the Bank during the spring freshets had previously removed a great part of the deposit in front of tho town, and made the place more healthy that it had been before for years It is understood that Habeas Corpus will be suspended in Canada as warning to other Itishmen, and that one Feulan spy had been tried by a drumhead, and the drumhead was the first to give way, and the whole thing fell through. Michael Murohy, leader of the Canadiau Fcniiuip, is a relative of Murphy the common 'tater, and will probably get himself into hot water. The action of rue United States Government in arresting the leaders of the expedition gives great satisfaction, particularly to the leaders arrested; but the action ot the Canadian author ities in arresting some has not been so satisfac tory to the parties. Franklin, Pa., June 7. Special. Three hundred Fenians marched to the depot, and then marched back again. Such rash 'tins will not vot sustain the army long. New York, June 7. Colonel Bobcrts was ar rested in New Fork to-day, and is now QUARTERED AT THE ASTOR BOUSE. It is reported that he may be sent to Fortress Monroe, in case the cholera should become pre valent in this city. The rank and file of the Fenians are very despondent at this usage of their leaders, while they have such hard times to get anything to eat. By the latest report General Sweeney was arrested in bed at St. Albans. He asked the privi lege of his captors of retaining his sword, his new patent-leathers, and his photograph album. The officers who arrested him behaved very gen tlemanly towards him, knocked at his room door before tbey came in, one of them knocking the lock off, making it unnecessary for the General to get out ot bed to open the door. Head Centre Stephens has not lately been heard from. It is supposed he has some diffi culty in gctl'cg an audience. President Jolinson is determined to maintain the Fenians at the Government expense those he can get hold of. I shall remain around in these quarters be tween the Falls of Niagara, Newfoundland, and New York, and post you up every hour on the Fenians. Don't piint anything except what I send 3011, or you may eet into trouble. Yotir Own Correspondent. A Sad Retort. The following is an extract from the proceed ings ol the Committee to investigate the Phila delphia Gas Works: Quea. What became of the old iron when the Retorts were used up? Ans. They were sold to parties who made them up into sad irons. We were going to make some witty comments on these proceedings, but one Whittier has already said "Ol ail the sad irons ot kinds and of sorts. 1 he saddest are these, Tdb oi d Gas Uetorts."
