Th Ft ) rtalat.
To the ISorder went the KfniariB bold,
hnckfd bv heaps ol servants' srnld;
Tbe toe was liiRhtcncd, the boll were tolled,
Alack-a-day ! bow all were sold!
'Grira Sweeney marshalled his boU for fleht,
, Told them their blows were lor the Ri(rht;
Hade them 1o strike with all their mleht,
Made each mother's son of 'em very tight,
Thn fled away to paoturcs new.
With all the rest of the prallant crew;
Resolved in out firmly to dare and do,
But vexed when he found that arms were few.
Tbe fight was made, the men were dead;
Curves fell th rk on feweuey's head:
Old Erin's sons larked ment and bread,
Their soulb grew black with tear aud dread.
Then, shaiplv smitinir, rnnrj Federal power,
Vrltb nil trlu that grew witn every hour:
Then Fenian chiefs, all forced to coffer,
Found, uii'ch too lute, their bread was sour!
