An Elderly Lady Taken Sick in ttte
Cabs. Yesteiday an elderly lady, accompanied by
her daughter, pot into the tieruiantown and N orris
town cars, at Mntli and Green streets. Just tin lore

the cars with the patting words, "Mother, good
bye, you have rot enough money to pay your way."
'When the train rescued Norristowu the old lady
was taken so sick that she could not speak. Not

token back to Girmgntown and furnished with
temporary quarters at the depot, from which place
she was conveyed to the Almshouse, until her friends
called after her. the has mixed grey and black
hair, cut short behind, square built, wore a dark
Shaker bonnet and blue cap, ami, light plaid shawl.

An Unexpected Visitor. On Saturday
right a horse attached to a soap wagon ran a vay in
Manayunk, and after proceeding a short distanoe,
the horse unceremoniously plumped through the
parlor window of the residence of Corue ius Mo
Clecsey, on Cresson strcot, above Lever ck. The
unheralded visitor greatly astonished the membora
of the lamily by such an odd method of Introduc
tion. Beaten and Robbkd by a Colobed
Party. Emma Kano, a colored ladv, kueps
a disorderly house in the neighborhood of Sovonth
and St. Mary's streets. Last night a white man, in
company with lour colored girlB, visited Emma's
bouse, and while there he was attacked, beaten, and
robbed by Emma and three or four colored mon,
The whole party were committed to prison by Al
derman Bwllt.
Naughty Conduct. Amos Toy and
George Dupont wore arrested on oaturday niirlit
about 11 o'clock, at Sixth and Cherry streets. They
were on a "high horse" generally. One of them
ran his fist through the window of "Dutch John's"
eating saloon, and hit Mrs Tel its, his wile. Alder
man odbou hold them in $1000 bail.
Chabgedwith a Series of Btjrgla--Rizs.
James Fagan, alias ' Pud," was arrested at
Twenty fourth and bhippen streets, on isaiurday
night, charged with being implicated in a serios ot
burglaries. He was taken before Alderman ti wilt,
who committed bim in detault of 91000 boil.
House Entebed. On Saturday night
the residence of l'homas Paul, situated at (jreon and
Harvey streets, (Jermantown, was entered by boring
through the shutter The thief or thieves rummaged
about a while, but did not sncoeed ;n securing any
thing but some eggs and pies.

found in the yard of the residence of Mr. Hover,
Olrurd avenue and Oermantown road, aoout 2
o'clock on Sunday morning, lie was held on suspi
cion of burglaiy by Alderman Sboomuker, in the
sum of $1000.
