nate railroad accident occurred at 1'eiTvv Illo latt
night. The through freight trulu from I'hila
dulphia, owlug to the engineer on the train
approaching the steam ferry, boat at loo high a
rate of speed, collided with the engiuc and four
cars which were standing on the steamer, pre
cipitating both engine, and eveu cars into the
river, among which were three loaded can of the
Adams' Express Company. No lives arc known
to be lost. No detention to travel will ensue If
the tides keep ordinarily full to allow the boat to
poos over the obstructions. The engines were
new, and very valuable, one of tUein tue heaviest
