The patient complains of weariness end debility; he is easily startled, his feet are cold or burning, and he complains of a prickly sensation of the scin; his spirits are low; and although ho is satisfied that exercise would lc beneficial to him, yet he can scarcely summon up fortitu enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every ic medy. .Several of the above symptoms attend the disease, but cases have occurred where few o them existed, yet examination of the body after death has shown the liver to have bceu extensive ly deranged.
