The petition of T)iomas Stewardfort on behalf
of himfelf and the other trustees for the cftate
of Samuel Caldwell, farviving partner of James
Meefe, bearing date Philadelphia, sth Month
17th 1799, dated as follows, viz. That a certain
John Collins had in consequence of fraudulent
deeds poll, obtained patents for two certain
trafts of land, one fitaate in the county of
Northumberland, surveyed to Samuel Caldwell
in pursuance of a warrant dated in 1774 ; and
the other situate n«w in Luzerne county, sur
veyed to laid Caldwell by a warrant aMo dat«d
in 1774 —a»d req»efted that patents might be
granted, for the laid tra&s, to William Cram
mond, Edward Tilghman, John Alhley, and
Thomas Stewardfon, trustees of the e(lat» of
Samuel Caldwell, surviving partner of James
Meefe, as the fiid two tra&] were part of the
eltate of Meefe and Caldwell.
Whereupon the Board hiving canfidered the
fa-roe, ordered that at lejft sixty days notice be
given in one of the Philadelphia newspapers,
and in the Lane after Journal to the (aid Collins
or his afligns, to appear before the Board on
the firft Monday in Odlober next, to (hew taule
if any he or they have, why patents Ihould not
ifToe for the (aid two tr?<sls t? the said trustees
agreeably to the prayer of the said petition.
