The petition if Thomas Stewardfon on behalf
of himfelf and the other trustees for tin estate
of Samuel Caldwelt, surviving partner of Jamea
Meefe, bearing date Philadelphia, <th Month
17th 1799, Bated as follows, viz. That a certain
John Collins had in confequenee of traudulent
deeds poll, obtained patents for two certain
trafis of land, one Situate in the county of
Northumberland, farveyed tp Samuel Caldwell
in purfuancc of a warrant dated in 1774 ; and
th« other fltuate n»w in Luzerne county, fik
veyed to said Caldwell by a warrant also dat«d
in 177+ —and req«efted that patents might be
granted, Tor the laid trails, to William Cram
mond, Edward Joh* Alhley, ajid
Thomas Stewardl'on, trustees of the estate of
Samuel Caldwell, iurviving partner of James
Meefe, as the said two trails were part of the
estate of Meefe and Caldwell.
Whereupon the flojrd having considered the
fame, ordered that at icaft sixty days notice be
g'ven in one of the Philadelphia newfpaprrs,
and in (he Lancaster Journal to the said Collins
or his afligns, to appear before the Board 011
the firft Monday in Oilober next, to (hew c?.ule
if any he or they have, why patents ihould not
illue for the said two trails to ihe said truftent
agreeably to the prayer ot the said petition.
