WHEREAS one Joseph Haslett, calling ,
himfelf a Physician, during his flay in Bos
ton, (nearly five feet eight inches high, pale mea
gre face, sandy hair, generally powdered and turn
ed up behind, small light blue eyes, two moles on
his upper lip, one on each fide, bad teeth, down
call look, rather a small pointed nose, very small
hands, well fhapctl legs, neat in his dress, carried
ess with him a long d; rk blue coat, with yellow
buttons, and a mixtd colored coaf, several pair of
caffimere small-clothes, striped, colored ard plain
white waistcoats, a man of not much volubility of
expreflion, but fond of reading and fmoaking fe
gars) did, in A|>ril last, fraudulently Swindle a
merchant in the aforefaid town, by forging a note
of Six Hundred and Eighty dollars, forty five cents
upon a merchant in Philadelphia, and negociating
the fame. And also did, previous to the aforefaid
dftte, Swindle and Defraud many others in the said
town and in the Southern States. Be it knewn to
all men, that the sum of One Hundred Dollars will
be paid to any person or persons, who shall appre
bend and deliver him the said Joseph Haflett into
the culiody of Mr. Oliver Hartfliorne, deputy
fheriff and goaler of Boston aforefaid, who will
pay the aforefaid sum of One Hundred Dollars and
all reasonable charges attending the taking and
conveying him the said Joseph Haflett'? perlon in
to the cullody oi him the aforefaid fheriff.

firft day of Oclober in the year 1801.
Note a. Fifteen minutes shall be allowed for
opening and doling the mail at all offices on the
routes whetc no particular time is fpecified.
Note 3. For every fifteen minutes delay (the
impafiibility of rivers excepted) in arriving af
ter the times prescribed, in any contrail, the
contrailor shall forfeit one dallar; and if the
delay continue till the departure of any depends
ing mail, whereby the mails destined for such
depending mail tbfe a trip, an additional for
feiture of five dollars fhsll be incurred.
Note 4. If atiy perfens making proposals de
sires an alteration of the times fpecified he mull

the difference it will make in the terms of his
contrail.
Note 5. The usual penalties for milconduil
in the carriers will be stipulated in the contrail.
Note 6. The mail on the route No. 1, shall
be carried in a Sulkey during three months of
the winter season, having a host or oheft to se
cure the mail from rain. Tbe mails on that
route during the reft of the year and tbe routes
No. 1 and 3 (hall be always carried in a light
box f«ffi,cient to defend it from the rain, or a box
\yithin the body of tbe stage.
