Northampton Court House the third day, and on
the morning of the fourth day the find

Norfolk.
A packet leaves Norfolk for Northampton feiry,
every Tucfd ly, Thursday and Saturday, and the
Stage starts from this ferry for Philadelphia, every
Mon.ay, Wcdncfday and Priday ;'putsup at Snow
Hill the firft night, at Dover the id night, and ar
rives in Philadelphia in the evening of the third
day.
Thediftance on this route, between Philadelphia
and Norfolk, is So miles lefa than on any fuge.route
between those placea. ,
Too much canpot be fai 1 in favor of the road,
which is most excellent indeed. The proprietors
willingly engage to return the whole fare to any
paflenger, who, after having performed this route,
w ill fay that he ever travelled in a stage for the fame
distance, so good a road in America.

WHereas fundty infringements have lately been
made on the Jaws of tljis state for the pre*
venting pestilential *r infectious diseases, either

expedient at this time to publifn the following ex

Sect. 7. And be it farther ena&ed, that svery
master or captain of any ship or v«iTel eoming from
fca (vessels aelually employed in the coasting trade
excepted) and bound to any port or place within
the jurifdiftion of Peonfylvania.fba l ] cause his fbip
or vessel to be brought to anchor, or otkerwife flay
ed in tbe flream of the river Delaware, opposite to
the Health-Office an Stata-Illand aforefaid, and
there to remain until he (hall have duly obtained a
c< rtificate or bill of heal h frera the Resident Phy
sician. And if, previeufly to obtaining such certi
ficate or bill of health, any master or captain (hall
futfer bis (hip or vessel to appri ach nearer than the
said Health-Office to the city of Philadelphia, or
fhalHand, canfe or fuffer to be landed, or brought
on (hore, at afly place or port within this Com
monwealth, or at any other port or place, with the
intent of being conveyed into this Commonwealth,
any person tr persons, or any goods, wares er mer
chandize, or, if after receiving such bill of health

the time of examination, be infected with any pet

any master or captain shall refufe to expose as afore-
