CAUTION.
WHEREAS very hrge and heavy debts are .justly
due and owing from meflrs. Blair M'-Clenacban and
Patrick Mtore, of the city of Philadelphia, merchants,
trading under the firm of Blair M'Clenachan and P.
Moore, and from Blair M'Clenacban in his separate
capacity ; to which, by the laws of the land, ail the
joint as well as separate property of the said Gentle
men, is, and ought to be, liable. And whereat
it is clearly and fatisfaftorily afccrtained, that mr.
Blair M'Clenacban, of the said firm, has cchveyed
away to mr. John H. livjlon, his son-in-law, to his
daughter, miss M'Clenacban, and to his son, Georg *
M'Clenacban, several large and valuable real ttf.itet,
as well as considerable personal property, in the city
an.l county of Philadelphia, in the county of Lsncaf
ter, Jh the county of New-Caflle on Delaware, and
elfc-where, with a view, as it is apprehended, to de
feat the Creditors in the recovery of their just debts.—
This is, therclore, to forewarn all persons whomfo*
ever, against the ]>urchafe from the said grantees, or
either if them, of any portion of the said real or per

TO THE PUBLIC.
THE caution introduced into the public prints,
warning all persons against jmrchafing from the
grantees of Blair M'Clenachan, any portion of the
large, real and petfonal ellates he conveyed away to
hit fon-in law and to hit children was the result of
a deliberation had upon the fubjeft by a general «nd
numerous meeting of the creditors at well of Blair
M'Clenachan and P. Moore as of Blair M'Clena
chan individually. It wat no more than an execu
tion of that trust confided in the fubferibers by
those creditors : a step which it would have been a
breach of duty and honor in them to have omitted.
The very ftatcment of the fa£t therefore must dis
pel the imputation that it was either " precipitate
or vindiflive." It originated in a defne to fecurc
the property of the debtor as a fund for the pay
ment of his just debts. It was fan&ioned by the
advice of council as a measure necessary to the fafetjr
of the creditort. If the advertisement hat been
injurious to Mr. M'Clenachan he owet that injury
to his own unjuftiiiable conduct, not to the fub
fciibers who have merely publifhtd the truth ia
terms as mild as the fad would admit, and who
mean to investigate in a high court of justice the
validity of those purchalers of which Mr. M'Cle
nachan so confidently speaks.
The fubferibers therefore are bound by a sense
of duty to the creditors in general to repeat their
caution against purWiaiing of those grantees or
either of them, and to extend the terms of it to a
purchase from any other persons (if such there be)
to whom Mr. M'Clenachan may have made similar
conveyance!.
