CATHARTIC PILLS,
for all the purposes of a Laxative Medicine
Perhaps no one Medicine is so universally re
quired by everybody as a cathartic, nor was ever
any before so universally adopted into use, in ev
ery country and among all classes, as this mil-J
but efficient purgiUive fill. The obvious reasou
is, that it is a mure reliable and far more effectual
remedy than any other. Those who have tried it,
know that it cured them ; those who have not,
know that it cures their neighbors and friends,
and all know that what it dues once it does always
—that it never fails thf-ugh any fault or neglect
of its composition We hare thousands upon thou
sands of certificates of their remarkable cures of
the following complaints, but such curesare known
in every neighborhood, and we need rot publish
them Adapted to all ages and conditions in all
climates; containing neither calomel orany dele
terious drug, they may be taken with safety by
anybody, iheirsugar coating preserves them ev
er tresh and makes tneni pleasant to take, while
being purely vegetable no harm can arise from
their use in any quantity.
They operate by their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify the blood and stimulate
it into healthy action—remove the obstructions of
the stomach, bowels, liver, and otherorgansof th
body, restoring their irregular action to health,
and by correcting, wnerever they exist, such
derangements as are the first origin of disease.
Minute directions are given in the wrapper on
the box. for the following complaints, which these
Pills rapidly cure :
For DYSPEPSIA or INDIGESTION, LISTLESSNESS,
LANGUOR aud Loss of Appetite, they should be
taken moderately to stimulate the stomach and
restore its healthy tone and action.
For LIVER COMPLAINT and its varioussyraptoms,
BILLIOOS HEADACHE SICK HEADACHE, JAUNDICE
or Green SICKNESS, Bilious Colic and Bilious Fe
vers, they should be judieiously taken foT each
case, to correct the diseased action or remove the
obstructions which cause it.
For DYSENTERY or DIARRHIEA, but one mild
dose is generally required
For RHEUMATISM, GOUT, GRAVEL, PALPITATION
OF THE HEART, PAIS IN IBK SIDE. BACK and
Loiss. they should be continuously taken, as re
quired, to change tbe diseased action of tbe sys
tem. With such change those complaints disap
pear.
For DROPSY and DROPSICAL SWELLINGS they
should be taken in large and frequent doses to
produce the effect of a drastic purge.
For SUPPRESSION a large dose should be taken
as it produces the desired effect by sympathy.
As a DINNER PILL, take one or iwo pills to pro
mote digestion and relieve the stomach.
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into healthy action, restores the appetite,
and invigorates the system. Hence it is often ad
vantageous where no serious derangement exists.
One who feels tolerably well, often findsthat a dose
of these PILLS makes hiua feel decidedly better,
from tbeircleansing and renovating effect on tbe
digestive apparatus.

4YE R'S Oil ICIUIY PECTORAL,
For Diseases of the Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Probably never before in the whole history of
medicine, has anything won so widely and so deep
ly upon the confidence of mankind, as this excel
lent remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through
a long seriesof years, and among must of the races
of men it has risen higher and higher in their es
timation, as it has become better known. Its uni
form character and power to cure tbe various af
fections of the lungs and throat, have made it
known as a reliable protector against them
While adapted to milder forms of disease and to
young children, it is at the same time the most
effectual remedy that can be given for incipient
consumntion, and the dangerous affections of the
throat and lungs. As a provision against sudden
attacks of Croup, it should be kept on hand in ev
ery family, and indeed as all are sometime sub
ject to colds and cougbs, all should be provided
with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still great numbers of cases where the
disease seemed settled, have been completely
cured, and the patient restored to s >and health by
the Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its mastery
over the disorders of the Lungs and Throat, that
the most obstinate of them yield to it. When
nothing else could reach them, under the Cherry
Pectoral they subside and disappear.
Singers and public Speakers Qnd great protec
tion from it.
Asthma is always relieved and often wholly cur
ed by It.
Bronchitis is generally cured by taking the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses.
So generally are its virtues known that we neea
not publish the certificates of tbem here, or do
more than assure the pubiio that its qualities are
fully maintaiped
AYE R' g AGUE CURE,
For Fever and Ague, Intermittent Fever, QhtU
Fever, Rea-i((ent Fever, Dumb Ague, Peri
odical or Fillious Fever, fyc.,and indeed all
the affections which arise from malarious,
marsh, or minimati r poisons.
As its name implies it does Curp, and does not
fail. Containing neither Arsenic, Quinine, Bis
muth. Zinc, nor any other mineral or poisonous
substance whatever, it in no wise injures any pa
tient. The number and importauce of its cures in
the ague districts, are literally beyond aocount,
and we believe without a parallel in the history
of Ague medicine. Our pride is gratified by tbe
acknowledgments we receive of the radioai cures
effected in obstinate cases, And where other reme
dies had wholly failed
Unaeelimated persons, either resident in, or
traveling through miasmatic localities, will be
protected by taking the AGUE CL'RE daily.
For Liver Complaints, arising from torpidity of
the Liver, it is an excellent remedy, stimulating
the Liver into healthy aotivity
For Bilious Disorders and Liver Complaints, it
is an excellent remedy, producing many truly re
markable cures, whereother medicines hadfailed.

lIAIR VIGO R,
For restoring Gray Hair to its natu
ral Vitality and Color.
A dragging which is at once agreeable, healthy,
and effectual for preserving the hair. Faded or
gray hair is sooa restored to ita original color and
the glogg and freshness of youth. Thin hair is
thickened, falling hair checked, and baldness of
ten. though not always, cured br its use. Noth
ing can restore the hair where the follicles are de
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and decayed.
But such as remain can be saved tor usefulness by
this application. Instead of fouling the uair with
a pasty sediment, it will keep it clean and vigor
ous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair
from turning gray or falling off, and consequently
prevent baldness. Free from those deleterious
substances which make some preparations danger
ous and injurious to the hair, the Vigor can only
benefit but not harm it. If wanted merely for a

nothing else can be found so desirable. Contain

mentsof rival piano houses, probably overlook the
modest manufacturer like Mr. Waters; but we
happen to kbow that his instruments earned him a
good reputation long before Expositions and "hon
ors" connected therewith were ever thought of;
indeed, we have one of Mr Waters' Pianofortes
now in onrresidence (where it has stood for many
years,) of which any manufacturer in the world
might well be proud. We have always been de
lighted with it as a sweet-toned and powerful in
strument, and there is no doubt of its durability ;
more than this, some of the best amateur player,
in the city, as well as several celebrated piaaistsa
have performed on the same piano, and all pro
uounce it a superior and first-class instrument.

BEDS-OBD, May 8, IBS 9
I take great pleasure in giving my testimony to
the value of' Middleton's Wonderful Pain Cure
I have been a martyr to Rheumatism For two
months previous to Feb. 25th, last, I wassoffering
intensely with pain so severe, that, during all that
time I had not one night of comfortable sleep r
could not put ray hands to my face, could not
comb my own hair, nor feed myself: but after
having the Pain Cure applied once. I found relief
enough to give me comfortable sleep, and with its
steady use. I continued to get better, and now at
the end of ten weeks from its first application, I
have comparatively free use of my Lands, sleep
well and can attend to business. It has done me
more good than all other medicines I have ever
used put together, and I cheerfully give this cer
tificate of its value.
ELI M FISHER

SARSAPAIIL LLA,
FOR PURIFYING THE BLOOD.
The reputation this excellent medicine enjoys,
is derived from its cures, many of which are truly
marvellous. Inveterate cases of Scrofulous dis
ease, where the system seemed saturated with
Corruption, have been purified and cured by it.
Scrofulous affectiOßß and disorders, which were
aggravated by the scrofulous contamination until
they were painfully afflicting, have been radical
ly cured in such great numbers in almost every
section of the country, that the public scarcely
need to be informed of its virtues or uses.
Scrofulous poison is one ot the most destructive
enemies of our race. Often, tbis unseen and un
feit tenant of the organism undermines the con
stitution, and invites the attack of enfeebling or
fatal diseases, without exciting a suspicion ot its
presence. Again, it seems to breed infection
throughout the body, and then, on some favora
ble occasion, rapidly develops into one or other of
its hideous iorrns, either on the suriaae or among
the vitals. In the latter, tubercles may be suu
denly deposited in the lungs or heart, or tumors
formed in the liver, or it shows its presence by e
ruptious on the skin, or toui ulcerations on Some
part ot the body. Hence the occasional use ot a
bottle of this Sarsaparilla is advisable, even w hen
no active symptoms of disease appear. Peisons
afflicted with the following complaints generally
find immediate relief, ami, at length, cure, by the
use of this Sarsaparilla : St. Anthony spire. Rose
or Erjsipelas, Tetter, Salt Kheurn, Scaid Head,
Ringworm, Sore Eyes, Sore Ears, and other erupt
tious or visible forms of Scrofulous disease. Also
in the more concealed forms, as Dyspepsia, Drop
sy, Heart Disease, Fits. Epilepsy. Neuralgia, anil
the various Ulcerous affections of the muscular
and nervous systems.
Syphilis or Venereal and Mercurial Disease? are
cured by it, though a long time is required lor
subduing these obstinate maladies by any medi
cine. But long continued use of this medicine
will curt the complaint. Leucorrhcea or Whites,
Uterine Ulcerations and Female Diseases, are
commonly soon relieved and ultimately cured by
its purifying and invigorating effect. Minute Di
rections for each oase are tuu.id in our Almanac,
supplied gratis. Rheumatism and Gout, when
caused by accumulations of extraneous matters iu
the blood, yield quickly to it, as also Liver Com
plaints, Torpidity, Congestion or Inflammation o.
the Liver, and Jaundice, when arising, as they of
ten do, from the rankling poisons in the blood.
This SAKSAPARILLA IS a great restorer for the
strength and vigor of the system. Those who are
Languid and Listless, Despondent, Sleepless, and
troubled with Nervous Apprehensions or Fears,
or any of the affections symptomatic of Weakness,
will find immediate relief and convincing evi
dence of its restorative power upon trial.
