WONDERFUL PAIN CURE*
A sure remedy for Rheumatism, Neuralgia. Lum
bago, Growing Pains, Sprains, Bruises. Stiffnes,
of the Joints and all similar diseases.
This wonderful remedy is composed entirely of
vegetable ingredients. There are no injurious
substances used in its manufacture.
For assurance of its excellent properties, read !
the following certificates
BEDPOBD, May 8,1849.
I take great pleasure in giving my testimony to
the value of "Middleton's Wonderful Pain Cure. "
I have been a martyr to Rheumatism. For two
months previous to Feb. 25th, last, 1 was suffering
intensely with pain so severe, that during all that
time I had not one night of comfortable sleep. I
could not put my hands to my faee, could not
comb my own hair, nor feed myself; but alter j
having the Pain Cure applied once, 1 found relief
enougn to give me comfortable sleep, and with its ;
steaify use, I continued to get better, and now at
the end of ten weeks from its first application, I
have comparatively free use of my hands, sleep
well and can attend to business. It has done me
more good than all other medicines I have ever
used put together, and I cheerfully give this cer
tificate of its value.
ELI M FISHER.
BEDFORD, April 14, 1869.
Mr. W. W. Middleton,
This is tc certify that I was taken with Rheu
matism, in my right shoulder, on the evening of
the Bth inst., so that I was unable to raise my
hand to my face. I got some of your Pain Cure
and applied it twice, and was entirely relieved.
I would recommend to every one who suffers with
Rheumatism to give it a trial and be cured.
Yours Ac., A. F. MILLER.
BEDFORD, May 17, 1869.
Mr. Middleton,
DEAH SIB —I have used several bottles of your
medicine in my family, and find it to be all you
claim for it. Yours, truly.
JOHN H.AFER.
BEDFORD, May 13, 1889.
This is to certify that I have used "Middleton's
Pain Cure," for Rheumatism, and was very much J
benefited by it. JOHN HARRIS.
BEDFORD, May 18, 1869
This is to certify that I have used Middleton's j
Liniment, for the Rheumatism which I bad in my
nght shoulder so bad that I could not get my j
hand to my bead without great pain, and after a
few applications was entirely relieved -
L. F. DART.
BEDFORD, May 1,1889.
Mr Middleton,
Dear Sir :— Mrs. Bowser was in much suffering !
for some four weeks with Rheumatism, and got j
some of your Pain Cure, and the first night I ]
applied it it eased the pain , and alter keeping
on using it for two weeks, she was restored to ;
health. I feel it to be my duty, as it is a pleasure. !
to write this recommendation for the benefit of '
others. JACOB BOWSER
BEDFORD, May 16 1869.
Mr W. W. Middleton :
tsir —l procured a bottle of your Liniment for j
Rheumatism, and it gives me great pleasure in
saying that after using it for two days, my rheuma
tism was completely relieved My sister was
suffering, at the same time, with Iniiainatory
Kheumatism in her right hand and wrist—after
using itfor several days she was relieved. I
consider it the best remedy I ever heard of.
JOHN KEEFE
BEDFORD. May 24. 1569.

' it a good cure, and would recommend it to all per
sons that are afflicted with the above disease
AUGUSTUS CARVER.
BEDFORD. May 26, 1869
MR Middleton :
Sir —I procured one bottle of your medicine and !

HAIRV I G O R,
FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE IIAIR
The Great Desideratum of the
Ag E.
A dressing which is si once agreeable, Kalthy,
| and effectual for preserving the bair Faded or
gray hair is soon restored to its original color and t
i the gloss and freshness of youth. Thin hair is
j
thickened, falling hair checked, and baldness of
ten, though not always, cured by its use. Noth
ing can restore the hair where the follicles are de- ''
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and decayed, j
But such as remain can be saved lor usefulness by '
this application. Instead of fouling the hair with
| a pasty sediment, it will keep it clean and vigor
i ous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair
j from turning gray or falling off, and consequently
prevent baldness. Free from those deleterious [
substances which make some preparations danger
ous and injurious to the bair, the Vigor can only
benefit but not harm it. If wanted merely for a
HAIR DRESSING,
nothing else can be found so desirable. Contain
j ing neither oil nor dye, it does not soil white j
cambric, and yet lasts longer on the hair, giving
j it a rich glossy lustre and a grateful perfume.

! CATHARTIC: PILLS,
For all the purposes of a Laxative Medicine.
Perhaps no one Medicine is so universally re- j
quired by everybody as a cathartic, nor was '
any before so universally adopted into use, in ev- j
ery country and among ail classes, as this inild ■
but efficient purgative Pill. The obvious reason j
is, that it is a inort reliable and far more effectual j
remedy than any other. Those who have tried it, j
know that it cured them ; those who have not, j
know that it cures their neighbors and friends,
and all know that what it does once it does always
—that it never fails through any fault or neglect
of its composition We bavo thousands upon thou
sands of certificates of their remarkable cures of
the following complaints, but suchcuresare known
in every neighborhood, and we need not publish
: them. Adapted to all ages and conditions in all
j climates; containing neither calomel or any dele
terious drug, they may be taken with safety by
anybody. Their sugar coating preserves them ev
er fresh and makes them pleasant to take, while
being purely vegetable no harm enn arise from
their use in any quantity.
They operate by their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify the blood and stimulate
it into healthy action—remove the obstructions of
the stomach, bowels, liver, and otherorgansof tha
body, restoring their irregular action to health,
and by correcting, wherever they exist, sueh
derangements as are the first origin of disease
Minute directions are given in the wrapper on
the box. for the following complaints, which these
Piils rapidly cure :
For DYSPEPSIA or INDIGESTION. LISTLESSNKSS,
LANGCOR and Loss of Appetite, they should be
taken moderately to stimulate the stomach and
restore its healthy tone and action.
For LIVER COMPLAINT and jts various symptoms.
BILLIOCS HEADACHE, SICK HEADACHE. JAUNDICE
or Green SICKNESS, Bilious Colic and Bilious Fe
vers, they should be judiciously takeu for each
case, to correct the diseased action or remove the
obstructions which cause it.
For DYSENTERY or DIARRHOEA, tut one mild
dose is generally required.
For RHEUMATISM, (JOCT, GRAVEL, PALPITATION
OP TBE HEART. PAIN IN THE SIDE, BACK and
LOINS, they should be continuously taken, as re
quired. to change the diseased action of the sys
tem. With such change those complaints disap
pear.
For DROPSY and DROPSICAL SWELLINGS they
should be taken in large and frequent doses to j
produce the effect of a drastic purge.
For SUPPRESSION a large dose should be taken
as it produces the desired effect by sympathy.
As a DINNER PILL, take one or two pills to pro
mote digestion and relieve the stomach.
An occasional dose stimulates tbe stomach and
bowels into healthy action, restores the appetite,
uud invigorates the system. Hence it is often ad
vantageous where no serious derangement exists.
One who feels tolerably well, often finds that a dose
of these PILLS makes him feel decidedly better,
from their cleansing and renovating effect on the
digestive apparatus.

MUSICAL DOINGS,— Since Mr. Waters gave up
publishing sheet music, he has devoted his whole
capital and attention to the manufacture and sale
of Pianos and Melodeons. He has just issued a
catalogue of his now instruments, giving a new
scale of prices, which shows a marked reduction
from former rates, and his Pianos have recently
been awarded the First Premium at several Fairs.
Many people of the present day, who are attract

modest manufacturer like Mr. Waters; but we
happen to khow thathis instruments earned him a
good reputation long before Expositions and "hon

indeed, we have one of Mr. Waters' Pianofortes

years,) of whioh any manufacturer in the world
might well be proud. We have always been de

strument, and there is no doubt of its durability ;
more than this, some of the best amateur players
in the city, as well as several celebrated pianists,
have performed on the same piano, and all pro
nounce it a superior and first-class instrument.

ER'SSARS APA R1 LL A,
FOh PURIFYING THE OOD.
The reputation this exce'lent medicine enjoys,
is derived from its cures, many of which are truly
marvellous. Inveterate cases of Scrofulous dis
ease, where the system seemed saturated with
corruption, havo been purified and cured by it.
Scrofulous affections and disorders, which "were
aggravated by the scrofulous contamination until
they were painfully afflicting, have been radical
ly cured in such great numbers in almost every
section of the country, that the public scarcely
need to be informed of its virtues or uses.
Scrofulous poison is one ot the most destructive
enemies of our race. Often, this unseen and un
felt tenant of ihe organism undermines the con
stitution, and invites the attack of enfeebling or
fatal diseases, without exciting a suspicion of its
presence. Again, it seems to breed infectioa
throughout the body, and then, on some favora
ble occasion, rapidly develops into one or other of
its hitieous tortus, either on the surtaoe or amoug
the vitals. In the latter, tubercles may be sud
denly deposited in the lungs or heart, or tumors
formed in the liver, or it shows its presence by e
ruptions on the skin, or foul ulcerations en some ;
part of the body. Heuce the occasional use of a
bottle of this Sarsaparilla is advisable, even when
no active symptoms of disease appear. Persons
afflicted with the following complaints generally
find immediate relief, and at length, cure, by the
use of this Sarsaparilla ; St. Anthony sFire Rose
or Erysipelas, Tetter, Salt Rheum, Soald Head
Ringworm, Sore Eyes, Sore Ears, and other
tions or visible forms of Scrofulous diaoase, Also
in the more concealed forms, as Dyspepsia, Drop
ay, Heart Disease, Fits, Epilepsy, Neuralgia, and
the various Ulcerous affooUong of the muscular !
and nervous systems.
Syphilis or Venereal and Mercurial Diseases are
cured by it, though a long time is required for 1
subduing these obstinate maladies by any modi- 1
cine. But long continued use of this medicine ;
will cure the complaint. Leucorrhooa or Waites, j
Uterine Ulcerations, and Female Diseases, arc
commonly soon relieved and ultimately onred by
Rs purifying and invigorating effect. Minute Di
rections for each ease are found in our Almanac,
supplied gratis. Rheumatism and Gout, when
oaused by accumulations of extraneous matters iu
the blood, yield quickly to it, as also Liver Com
plaints, Torpidity, Congestion or Inflammation of
the Liver, and Jaundice, when arising, as they of
ten do, from the rankling poisons in the blood
This SARSAPARILLA is a great restorer for the ;
strength and vigor of the system, 'lhose who are
Languid and Listless, Despondent, Sleepless, and
troubled with Nervous Apprehensions or Fears
or any of the affections symptomatic of Weakness!
will find immediate relief and convincing evi
dence of its restorative power upon trial,

A YER'S CHERRY PECTORAL,
For Diseases of the Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Probably never before in the whole history of
! medicine, has anything won so widely andso deep
j ly upon the confidence of mankind, as this excel
; lent remedy for pulmonary complaints Through
; a long series of years, and among most of the races
j of men it has risen higher and higher in their es
timation, as it has become better known. Its uni
form character and power to cure the various af
fections of the lungs and throat, have made it
: known as a reliable protector against them
While adapted to milder forms of disease and to
; young children, it is at the same time the most
j effectual remedy that <wa be given for incipient
| consumption, and the dangerous affections of the
throat nd lungs. As a provision against sudden
attacks of Croup, it should be kept on hand in ev
ery family, and indeed as all are sometime sub
ject to colds and cougts, all should be provided
with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still gsat numbers of cases where the
disease seemed settled, have been completely
: cured, and the patient restored to s >und health by
! the Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its mastery
j over the disorders of the Lungs and Throat, that
the most obstinate of them yield to it. When
nothing else could reach them, under the Cherry
I Pectoral they subside and disappear.
Singers and public Speakers find great protee
| tiiu from it.
Asthma is always relieved and often wholly cur
| ed by it.
Bronchitis is generally cured by taking the
j Cherry Pectoral in small and freqnent doses.
So generally are its virtues known that we neea
i not publish the certificates of them here, or do
! more than assure the public that its qualities are
j fully maintained.
; AYER'S AGUE CUR E,

Fever, Remittent Fever, Dumb Ague, Peri
odical or Billions Fever, 4-e., and indeed all
the affections which arise from malarious,
marth, or miasmatic poisons.
| As its name implies it does Cure, and does not
j fail. Containing neither Arsenic, Quinine, Bis
j wuth, Zinc, nor any other mineral or poisonous
j substance whatever, it in no wise injures any pa
j tient. The number and importance of its cures in
the ague districts, are literally beyond account,
| and we believe without a parallel in the history
| of Ague medicine. Our pride is gratified by the
: acknowledgments we receive of the radical cures
effected in obstinate cases, and where other reme
dies had wholly failed
1 nacclimated persons, either resident in, or
traveling through miasmatic localities, will be
protected by taking the AGUE CURE daiiy.
For Liver Complaints, arising from torpidity ot
j the Liver, it is an excellent remedy, stimulating
; the Liver into healthy activity.
; For Bilious Disorders and Liver Complaints, it
j is an excellent remedy, producing many truly re
markable eures, where other medicines had failed.
