MI DDL ETON'S
WONDERFUL P A I N C U R E
A sure remedy for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Lum
bago, Growing Pains. Sprains, Bruises, Stifl'nes,
of the Joints and all similar diseases.
This wonderful remedy is composed entirely of
vegetable ingredients. There are no injurious
substances used in its manufacture
For assurance of its excellent properties, read
the following certificates :
BEDPORD, May 8, 1889.
I take great pleasure in giving my testimony to
the value of "Middleton's Wonderful Pain Cure. '
I have been a martyr to Rheumatism. For two
months previous to Feb. 25th, last, I was suffering
iutensely with pain so severe, that during all that
time I had not one night of comfortable sleep. I
could not put my hands to my face, 'could not
comb my own hair, n'ir feed myself: but alter
having the Pain Cure applied once, I found relief
enough to give me comfortable sleep, and with iu
steady use, I continued to get better, and now at
the end of ten weeks from it? first application, I
have comparatively free use of my hands, sleep
well and can attend to business. It ha? done me
more good than all other medicines I have ever
used put together, and I cheerfully give this cer
tificate of its value.
ELI M. FISHER
BEDFORD, April 11, 1869.
Mr. W. W. Middleton,
This is to certify that I was taken with Rheu
matism, in my right shoulder, on the evening of
the Bth inst., so that I was unable to raise my
hand to my face, I got some of your Pain Cure
and applied it twice, and was entirely relieved.
I would recommend to every one who suffers with
Rheumatism to give it a trial and be cured.
Yours Ac., A F.MILLER.
Br.nroßD, May 17, 1869.
Mr. Middleton,
DEAH S'B —I have used several bottles of your
medicine ,n my family, and find it to be all you
claim for it. Yours, truly,
JOHN HAFEK.
BEDFORD, May 13, 1869.
This is to certify that I have used Middleton's
Pain Cure," for Rheumatism, and was very much
benefited by it. JOHN HARRIS.
BEDFORD, May IS, 1869
This i 3 to certify that I have used Middleton's
Liniment, for the Rheumatism which I had in my
right shoulder so bad that I could not get my
hand to my head without great pain, and after a
few applications was entirely relieved.
L F. DART.
BEDFORD, May 1, 1869.
Mr Middleton,
Dear Sir: — Mrs. Bowser was in much suffering
for some four week? with Rheumatism, and got
some of your Pain Cure, and the first night I
applied it it eased the pain; and after keeping
on using it for two weeks, she was restored to
health. I feoi it to be my duty, as it is a pleasure,
to write this recommendation for the benefit of
others. JACOB BOWSER

BEDFORD, May 16. 1869.
Mr W. W. Middleton :
i>ir —I procured a bottle of your Liniment for
Rheumatism, and it gives me great pleasure in
saying that after using it for two days, my rheuma
tism was completely relieved My sister was
suffering, at the same time, with Inflamatory
Rheumatism in her right hand and wrist—after
using itfor several days she was relieved. I
consider it the best remedy I ever heard of.
JOHN KEEFE.
BEDFORD, May 24, 1869.
This it to certify that I have used one bottle of
Middleton's Liniment, for Rheumatism, and tbink
it a good cure, and would recommend it to all per
sons that are afflicted with the above disease.
AUGUSTUS CARVER.
BEDFORD. May 26, 1869.
Mr. Middleton :
Sir—l procured one bottle of your medicine and

AVER'S
II A I R VI G O R,
FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE HAIR
THE GREAT DESIDERATUM OF THE
AGE.
A dressing which is at once agreeable, healthy,
and effectual for preserving the hair. Faded or
gray hair is soon restored to its original color and
tb gloss and freshness of youth. Thin hair is
thickened, falling hair checked, and baldness of
ten, though not always, cured by its use. Noth
ing can restore the hair where the follicles are de
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and decayed.
But such as remain can be saved lor usefulness by
this application. Instead of fouling the hair with
a pasty sediment, it will keep it clean and vigor
ous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair
from turning gray or falling off, and consequently
prevent baldness. Free from those deleterious
substances which make some preparations danger
ous and injurious to the hair, the Vigor can only
benefit but not harm it. If wanted merely for a
HAIR DRESSING,
nothing else can be found so desirable. Contain
ing neither oil nor dye, it does not soil white
cambric, and yet lasts longer on the hair, giving
it a rich glossy lustre and a grateful perfume.

V ER'S CATii A RTIC PILLS,
For all the purposes of a Laxative Medicine.
Ferhaps no one Medicine is so universally re
quired by everybody as a cathartic, nor was ever
any before so universally adopted into use, in ev
ery country and among_ all classes, as this mild
but efficient purgative Pill. The obvious reason
is, that it is a more reliable and far more effectual
remedy than any other. Those who have tried it,
know that it cured them ; those who have not,
know that it cures their neighbors and friends,
and all know that what it does once it docs always
—that it never fails through any fault or neglect
of its composition We have thousands upon thou
sands of certificates of their remarkable cures of
the following but such cures are known
in every neighborhood, and we need not publish
them. Adapted to all ages and conditions in ali
climates; containing neither calomel or any dele
terious drug, they may be taken with safety by
anybody. Their sugar coating preserves tbem ev
er fresh and makes them pleasant to take, while
being purely vegetable no harm can arise from
their use in any quantity.
They operate by their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify the blood and stimulate
it into healthy action—remove the obstructions of
the stomach, bowels, liver, and other organs of tha
body, restoring their irregular action to health,
and by correcting, wherever they exist, such
derangements as are the first origin of disease.
Minute directions are given in the wrapper on
the box. for the following complaints, which these
Pills rapidly cure .
For DYSPEPSIA or INDIGESTION, LISTLESSNKSS,
LANGUOR and Loss of Appetite, they should be
taken moderately to stimulate the stomach and
restore its healthy tone and action.
For LIVER COMPLAINT and its various symptoms,
BILLIOPS HEADACHE. SICK HEADACHE. JAUNDICE
or Green SICKNESS, Bilious Colic and Bilious Fe
vers, they should be judiciously taken for each
case, to correct the diseased action or remove the
obstructions which cause it.
For DVSKNTERY or DIARKHCEA, but one mild
dose is generally required.
For RUKCHATISM, GOUT, GRAVEL, PALPITATION
OF THE HEART. PAIN IN THE SIDE, BACK and
LOINS, they should be continuously taken, as re
quired, to change the diseased action of the sys
tem. With such change those complaints disap
pear.
For DROPSV and DROPSICAL SWELLINGS they
should be taken in large and frequent doses to
produce the effect of a drastic purge.
For SUPPRESSION a large dose should be taken
as it produces the desired effect by sympathy.
As a DINNER PILL, take one or two pills to pro
mote digestion and relieve the stomach.
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into bealtby action, restores the appetite,
and invigorates the system. Hence it is often ad
vantageous where no serious derangement exists.
One who feels tolerably well, often finds that a dose
of these PILLS makes him feel decidedly better,
from their cleansing and renovating effect on the
digestive apparatus.

Mi HIOAL DOINGS,- Since Mr. Waters gave up
publishing sheet music, be has devoted his whole
capital and attention to the manufacture and sale
of Pianos and Melodeons. He has just issued a
catalogue of his new instrument*, giving a new
scale of prices, which shows a marked reduction
from former rates, and his Pianos have recently
been awarded the First Premium at several Fairs.
Many poople of the present day, who are attract
ed, if not confused, with the flaming adeertise
merits of rival piano houses, prohahly oyorlook the
modest manufacturer like Mr. VVators, but we
happen to khow that his instruments earned him a
good reputation long before Expositions and "hon
ors" connected therewith were ever thought of;
indeed, we have one of Mr Waters' Pianofortes
now in our residence (where it has stood for many
years.) of which any manufacturer in the world
might well be proud. Wo have always been de
lighted with it as a sweet-toned and powerful in
strument, and there is no doubt of its durability ;
more that, this, some of the best amateur players
in the city, as well as several celebrated pranrstg,
have performed on tbo same piano, and all pro
uounee it a superior and first-ejass instrument.
Stronger endorsement we could not give.— Home

SARSAPARI;LLA,
FOR PURIFYING THE OOD.
The reputation this excellent medicine enjoys,
is derived from its euros, many of which are truly
marvellous. Inveterate oases of Scrofulous dis
oase, whore the system seemed saturated with
corruption, havo been purified and cured by it.
Scrofulous affections and disorders, which were
aggravated by the scrofulous oontaminution until
they were painfully afflicting, havo been radical
ly cured in suoh great numbers in almost every
section of the oountry, that tho public scarcely
need to be informed of its virtues or uses.
Scrofulous poison is one ot the most destructive
onemies of our race. Often, this unseen and un
felt tenant of the organism undermines the con
stitution, and invites the attack of enfeebling or
fatal diseases, without exciting a suspicion of its
presence. Again, it seems to breed infection
throughout the body, and then, on some favora
ble occasion, rapidly develops into one or other of
its hideous lorms, either or. the surface or among
the vitals. In the latter, tubercles may be sud
denly deposited in the lun<s or heart, or tumors
formed in the liver, or it snows its presence by e
ruptions on the skin, or foul ulcerations on some
part ot the body. Hence the occasional use of a
bottle of this Sarsaparilla is advisable, oven when
no active symptoms of disouso appear. Persons
afflicted with the following complaints generally
tind immediate relief, and, at length, cure, by the
use of this Sarsaparilla : St. Anthony s Fire, Rose
or Erysipelas, Tetter, Salt Rheum, Scald llead,
Ringworm, Sore Eyes, Soro Ears, and other erup
tion* or visible forms of Scrofulous disease. Also
in the more oonccaled forms, as Dyspepsia, Drop
sy, Heart Disease, Fits, Epilepsy, Neuralgia, anil
the various Ulcerous affection* of tbo muscular
and nervous systems,
Syphilis or Venereal and Mercurial Diseases are
cureil by it, though a long time is required for
subduing these obstinate maladies by any medi
cine. But long continued use of this medicine
will cure the complaint. Leuoorrhoea or W aites,
Uterine Ulcerations, and Female Diseases, are
cuinmoiily soon relieved and ultimately cured by
its purifying and invigorating effect. Minute Di
rections for each case are found in our Almanac,
supplied gratis. Rheumatism aud Gout, when
caused bv accumulations of extraneous matters in
tho blood, yield quickly to it, as also Liver Com
plaints, Torpidity, Congestion or Inflammation of
the Liver, and Jaundice, when arising, as they of
ten do, from the rankling poisons in the blood.
Ibis SARSAPARILLA is a great restorer for the
strength and vigor of the system. Those who are
Languid and Listless, Despondent, Sleepless, and
troubled with Nervous Apprehensions or Fears,
or any of the affections symptomatic of Weakness,
will find immediate relief and convincing evi
dence of its restorative power upon trial.

CHERRY PECTORAL,
For Diseases of the Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Probably never before in the whole history of
medicine, has anything won so widely and so deep
ly upon the confidence of mankind, as this excel
lent remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through
a long series of years, and amoDg most of the races
of men it has risen higher and higher in their es
timation, as it has become better known. Its uni
form character and power to cure the various af
fections of the lungs and throat, have made it
known as a reliable protector against them
While adapted to milder forms of disease and to
young children, it is at the same time the most
effectual remedy that can be given for incipient
consumption, and Re dangerous affeotions of tli
throat and lungs. As a provision against sudden
attacks of Croup, it should he kept on hand in ev
ery family, and indeed as all are sometime sub
ject to colds and cougns, all should be provided
with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still great numbers of oases where the
disease seemed settled, have been completely
cured, and the patient restored to aiund health by
the Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its mastery
over the disorders of the Lungs and Throat, that
the most obstinate of them yield to it. When
nothing else could reach them, under the Cherry
Pectoral they subside and disappear.
Singers and public Speakers find great protec
tion from it.
Asthma is always relieved and often wholly cur
ed by it.
Bronchitis is generally eured by taking the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses
So generally are its virtues known that we need
not publish the certificates of them here, or do
more than assure the public that its qualities are
fully maintained.
AY ER'S AGUE CUR E,
ror fever and Ague, Intermittent Fever, Chill
Fever Remittent Fever, Dumb Ague , Pen
odieal or Billions Fever, Ire., and indeed all
the affections icltieh arise from malarious,
marsh, or miasmatic poisons.
As its name implies it does Cure, and does not
fail. Containing neither Arsenic, Quinine. Bis
muth, Zinc, nor any other mineral or poisonous
substance whatever, it in no wise injures anv pa
tient. The number and importance of its euros in
the ague districts, are literally beyond aooount,
and we believe without a parallel in the history
of Ague mediqino. Our pride is gratified by the
acknowledgments we reeeive of the radical cures
effected in obstinate cases, and where other reme
dies had wholly failed.
Unaeelimated persons, either resident in or
traveling through miasmatic localities, will' bo
protected by taking the AGUE CURE daily.
For Liver Complaints, arising from torpidity of
the Liver, it is an excellent remedy, stimulating
the Liver into healthy aotivity.
Fur Bilious Disorders and Liver Complaints, it
is an excellent remedy, producing many truly re
markable cures, where other medicines had failed
