FOR THK RENOVATION <>F THE HAIR.
TIN: GREAT T>F.STIIKRATITM OF THE
AGE.
A dressing which is at once agreeable, healthy,
and effectual for preserving the hair. Faded or
gray hair is soon restored to its original color and
the gloss and freshness of youth. Thin haie is
thickened, falling hair checked, und baldness of
ten, though not always, cured by its use. Noth
ing can restore the hair where the follicles are de
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and decayed.
But such as remain can be saved lor usefulness by
this application. Instead ot touting the hair with
a pasty sediment, it will keep it clean and vigor
ous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair
from turning gray or falling off, and consequently
prevent baldness. Free froin those deleterious
Substances which make some preparations danger
ous and injurious to the hair, the Vigor can only
benefit but noi harm it. If wanted merely for a
lIAIR DRESSING,
nothing else can be found so desirable. Contain
ing neither oil r.or dye, it does not soil white
cambric, and yet lasts longer on the hair, giving
it a rich glossy lustre aud a grateful perfume.

\ Y ER'S C ATI lARTIC PILLS,
For all the purposes of a Laxative Medicine.
Terhaps no one Medicine is so universally re
quired by everybody as a cathartic, nor was e-'er
any before so universally adopted into use, in ev
ery country and among all classes, as this mild
but efficient purgative Pill. The obvious reason
is, that it is a more reliable and far more effectual
remedy than any other. Those who have tried it,
know that it cured them ; those who have not,
know that it cures their neighbors and friends,
and all know that what it does once it does always
— that it never fails through any fault or neglect
of its composition We have thousands upon tnou
sands of certificates of their remarkable cures of
the following complaints, but such cures tire known
in every neighborhood, and wc need not publish
them Adapted to all ages and conditions in all
climates; containing neither calomel or any dele
terious drug, tbey may be taken with safety by
anybody. Their sugar coating preserves them ev
er fresh and makes them pleasant to take, while
being purely vegetable no harm can ariso from
their use in uny quantity.
They operate by their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify the blood and stimulate
it iato healthy action — remove the obstructions of
the stomach, bowels, liver, and other organs of tha
body, restoring their irregular action to health,
and by correcting, wherever they exist, such
derangements as ure the first origin of disease.
Minute directions are given in the wrapper on
the box, for the following complaints, which these
Pills rapidly uure :
For DYSPEPSIA or ISDICKSTION, LISTLKSSNKSS,
LANGUOR and Loss of Appetite, they should be
tuken moderately to stimulate the 'stomach and
restore its healthy tone and action.
For LIVER COMPLAINT and its various symptoms,
BILLIUPS HEADACHE, BICK HEADACHE, JAUNDICE
or Green SICKNESS, Bilious Colic and Bilious Fe
vers, they should be judiciously taken for eaoh
case, to correct the diseased action or remove the
obstructions which cause it.
For DYSENTERY or DIARCHIES, but one mild
dose is generally required.
For RHEUMATISM, GOUT, GRAVEL, PALPITATION
OF THE HEART. PAIS IN THE SIDE, BACK and
LOINS, they should be continuously taken, A- re
quired. to change the diseased action of the sys
tem. With such change those complaints disap
pear.
For DROPSY and DROPSICAL SWELLINGS they
should be taken in large and frequent doses to
produce the effect of a drastic purge.
For SUPPRESSION a large dose should be taken
as it produces the desired effect by sympathy.
As A DINNER I'ILL, take one or two pills to pro
mote digestion and relieve the stomach.
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into healthy action, restores the appetite,
and invigorates the system. Hence it is often ad
vantageous where uo serious derangement existß.
One who feels tolerably well, often finds that a dose
of these PILLS makes him feel decidedly better,
from their cleansing and renovating effect on the
digestive apparatus.

MUSICAL DOISGS.- Since Mr. Waters gave up

capital and attention to the manufacture uud sale
of Pianos and Melodeons. He hag just issued a
catalogue of his new instrumeuts, giving a new
scale of prices, which shows a marked reduction
from former rates, and his Pianos have recently
been awarded the First Premium at several Fairs.
Many people of the present day, who are attract
ed, if not coufused, with the flaming adcertise
ments of rival piano houses, probably overlook the
modest manufacturer like Mr- Waters; hut we
happen to khow that his instruments earned him a
good reputation long before Expositions md "hon
ors" connected therewith were ever thought of;
indeed, we have one of Mr. Waters' Pianofortes
now in our residence (where it has stood for many
years.) of which any manufacturer in the world
might well be proud. We have always been de
lighted with it as a sweet-toned and powerful in
strument, and there is no doubt of its durability ;
more than this, some of the best amateur players
in the city, as well as several celebrated pianists,
have performed on the same piano, and nil pro
nounce it a superior and first-class instrument.

AY ER'S SA lIS A P AltlJL L A,
FOR PURIFYING THE OOI).
The reputation this excellent medicine enjoys,
is derived from its cures, many of which are truly
marvellous. Inveterate cases of Scrofulous dis
ease, whore the system seemed saturated with
corruption, havo been purified and cured by it.
Scrofulous affections and disorders, which were
aggravated by the scrofulous contamination until
they were paiutully afflicting, have been radical
ly cured in such great numbers in almost every
section of the country, that the publie scarcely
need to be informed of its virtues or uses,
Scrofulous poison is one ot the must destructive
enemies of our race. Often, this unseen and un
folt tenant of the organism undermines the con
stitution, and invites the attack of enfeebling or
fatal diseases, without exciting a suspicion of its
presence. Again, it seems to breed infection
throughout the body, and then, on some favora
ble oooasiou, rapidly develops into one or other of
its hideous forms, either on the surface or among
the vitals. In the latter, tubercles may he sud
denly deposited in the or heart, or tumors
formed in the liver, or it shows its presence by e
ruptions on the skin, or foul ulcerations on some
partot the body, lience the occasional use ufa
bottle of this Sarsaparilla is advisable, eveu when
no active symptoms of disease appear. Persons
afflicted with the following complaints generally
find immediate relief ami, at length, cure, by the
use of this tsnrsapnrilla ; St. Anthony a Fire, Hose
or Erysipelas, Totter, Salt Hheum, Scald Head,
Ringworm, Sore Eyes, Sore Ears, and other erup
tions or visible forms of Scrofulous disease. Also
in the more ensealed forms, as Dyspepsia, Drop
sy. Heart Disease, Pits. Epilepsy. Neuralgia, and
the various Ulcerous affections of the muscular
and nervous systems.
Syphilis or \ cnereal and Mercurial Diseases are
cured by it. though a long time is required for
subduing these obstinate maladies by any medi
cine. Rut long continued use of this madioino
will cur the complaint. Leueorrhoea or W sites,
L' leriuo Ulcerations, and Fetnalu Diseases- are
commonly soon relieved ami ultimately cured by
its purifying and invigorating effect. Minute Di
reetitms for each caxe aye touud in our Almanac,
supplied gratis. Rheumatism and (lout, when
caused by accumulation* of extraneous matters in
the blood, yield quickly to it, as also Liver Com
plaints, Torpidity, Congestion or Inflammation of
the Liver, and Jaundice, when arising, as they of.
ttu do, frum the rankling poisons in the blood.
This EARS APARItLA is a great restorer for thfl
strength and vigor of tho system. Those who are
Languid and Listless, Despondent, Sleepless, and
troubled with Nervous Apprehensions or Pears,
or any of the affections y upturn a tie of Weakness,
will find immediate relief and convincing evi
dence of iu restorative power upon trial.

\ YER'S CHERRY PECTORAL,
Eur Diseases of the Throat ami Lunjjs,
such as Coughs, (Juld.-, Wlwx>ping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Probably never before in the whole history t.f
medicine, has anything won so widely and so deep
ly njx>n the confidence of mankind, as this excel
lent remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through
a long series of years, ahd'smongmost of the races
of men it has risen higher and higher in their es
timation, as it has become better known. Its uni
form character and power to cure the various af
fections of the lungs and throat, have made it
known as a reliable protector against them.
While adapted to milder forms of disease and to
young children, it is at the same time the most
effectual remedy that can be given for incipient
consumption, and the dangerous affections of the
throat and lungs. As a provision against sudden
attacks of Croup, it should be kept on hand in ev
ery family, and indeed as all are sometime sub
ject to colds and coughs, all should be provided
with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is though' in
curable, still groat numbers of cases where lb
disease seemed settled, have been completely
cured, and the patieut restored to s mnd heaffh by
the Cherry Pectoral. So complete is its mastery
over the disorders of the Luugs and Throat, that
the most obstinate of them yield to it. When
nothing else could reach them, under the Cherry
Pectoral they subside and disappear.
Singers and public Speaker? fln-1 great protec
tion trorn it.
Asthma is always relieved andofter. wholly eur
ed by it.
Bronchitis is generally cured by taking the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses
So generally are its virtues known that we need
not publish the certificates of them here, or do
more than assure the public that its qualities are
fully maintained.
