THE MORNING PATRIOT.
The office of the late Patriot and Union having
passed into the hands of the undersigned, they
propose to supply a vacuum that has long existed
in the newspaper press of interior Pennsylvania.
From some cause or other the reading masses of
the Democratic party of the great interior coun
ties of the State, have been compelled, either to
do without the latest news, or patronize journals
whose political sentiments were distasteful to
them
The MORNING PATRIOT is intended to supply
this want.
Its proprietors are determined that no efforts
shall bo gpared, on their part, to make it FULLY
EIJUAL, as a newspaper, to any of its competitors
Whatever the electric wires are able to communi
cate, up to the hour of going to press, will be fur
nished in its columns every morning; and its
large size will enable it to give quite as much
reading matter as any of its contemporaries.
As an advocate of sound political sentiments, j
favoring no faction, clique or section, but devoting
its entire energies to the good of the whole par
ty ; as a vehicle of the latest news, and a chroni- j
cler of passing events, we aro determined that it j
shall not be excelled ; and we confidently appeal
to a discriminating public for that appreciation
and encouragement which are indispensable to
success.
TERMS:
For the Daily, one year in advance $7 00
For the Daily Six months, in advance 3 50

PATRIOT to make their weekly journal fully equal
to what the "Patriot and Union'" was in its palmi
est days. It will be one of the largest weekly pa
pers in th< i-toto. o.ia special pains wilt he taken
to fill its columns with such reading matter as
will be alike interesting and useful to the Farmer,
the Mechanic and the Man of Business, and to
make it an agreeable and welcome visitor to ev
ery family.
Every person should subscribe to the paper
printed in his own county, and we do not mean to
enter into competition with the local papers of the
State. But, many people take their home paper
and a city paper in addition. To such we send
greeting.

MEDICAL.— DR. A. 8. SMITH,
having resumed the Practice of Medicine,
solicits a generous share of the patronage of tho
community. Office in his residence, at St Clairs
ville.
He would call the attention of the public, and to
those more immediately interested to the follow
ing : His health being too delicate to bear much
of the fatigues and exposures consequent on gen
eral practice, he has adopted a speciality in the
profession.
Soon after commencing practice, some twenty
years since, he was attracted by the almost uni
versality of female complaints, both in the mar
ried and single state. Partly from natural incli
nation. and in order to obtain success in practice,
these complaints were made the subjeet of incess
ant study. These alterations, displacements and
deranged functions of the organs peculiar to the
female, are owing to that refined sense of delicacy
on the part of the female, who, ignorant of the
consequences, prefers to suffer in silence rather
than expose her situation. Seldom cured by the
general practitioner, who is prevented by this
delicacy from acquiring by experience that tact
and skill necessary to discriminate the exact
change present, and contents himself with pre
scribing for the deranged functions, or overlooking
the cause, simply for attendant nervous disorders,
founding his prescriptions on a Plethoric Auaenion
ic state of the general system and the result is no
benefit, as the number of the long suffering fe
males bears ample testimony. Believing that ho
has. from long and special attention paid to them,
acquired that skill in discriminating and experi
ence in treating, he solicits the suffering to give
him a call. No charges for consultation or exam
ination. Visits made to all parts of the eouuty.
Applications for medicines can be made in wri
ting by accompanying stamp for return letter.—
Medicines sent when desired. TERMS invariably
cash for all medicines and instruments.
