HOT WEATHER.— The heaton Mon
day and Tuesday last was very severe.
Tiie thermometer stood at l"l in the
shade. Just imagine a poor devil of an
Editor, ensconced in an eight by ten
sanctum, fanning himself with proof
sheets, sweating his brain- out over the
metaphysics of politics, wiping his
brows with his inky hands, until his
face resembles the principles of'i'had.
Stevens, heated to intensity by the
faintest intimation of "copy wanted,"
falling half asleep over an unfinished
sentence, startled by a bunch of Hies
colonizing on itis nose, roused up by the
cry of "more copy," bothered into a
lather of perspiration by some garru
lous loafer, called on for money with
"ne'er-a-red" to meet the demand —
just think of it, the life of an editor 4n
hot weather, and thank your stars that
you are a farmer, a mechanic, a mer
chant, a teacher, a preacher, a doctor,
or even a lawyer, but no poor misera
ble, unappreciated, over-worked, ours
wl-at specimen of a country editor. —

MUKENZIK'S TEN THOUSAND RE-

farmer, the artisan, the housekeeper,
the artist and the man of science. We
'in conscientiously recommend it to
' ir reader- as fully worth the subscrip
tion price. It is a u-eftil book and
should be in every household in the

MISCEGENATION IN CHESTER COI N- ;
rv.—lt would be strange if Chester,
county should fail to give practical
manifestation ofthedoctrinestaught by 1
the Abolitionists. Here where it is
taught in its purity, we have a right to
expect it. We are informed of a case
which occurred recently in the south
western part of the county.
A renegade Democrat, living in New
Loudon, now a loud "loyal" member j
of the black league, who has been preach-1
ing up the doctrines of Stevens, Sum- i
lier. Kelly and Brootnal, is possessed ol i
a niece, who listened to his teachings,!
and lately returned home, from near j
Penningtonville, with a browsy "eul
lud" citizen, whom she introduced as j
her lawful and wedded protector, not ;
doubting but that her uncle and aunt, i
who professed such warm friendship t
for the race of herchoice, would recieve
him with open mouth and arms; hut}
alas, the poor deluded girl was not so j
favored, she had been deceived in her
uncle, who onh wants miscegenation
for other people, not for his family, and 1
thelubly groom and his white bride ;
were unceremoniously kicked out into
the cold, cold world .—Jcffersonian.

PURIFY THE BLOOD.— If the blood
be pure the body which is formed from and by the
i blood cannot be diseased. But if there be in any
! part of the body any affection, such as a boil or

I affection and carries it into the general system
| This is the cause often of sudden death to persons
! of full habit afflicted with boils aud ulcers, and

y exquisite impregnation of dry Spanish Wine
with the ac'ivity of Calisava Bark, and the most
energetic of all the ferruginous salts. Citrate ol
Magnetic Oxide of Iron. It has a vinous flavor,
very grateful to the pilate, is without chalybeate
taste and will not discolor the teeth.
It excites languid appetite, gives zest to food,
improves digestion, increases the strength, stead
ies the circulation, takes off muscular fl ibbiness,
removes the pallor of debility, gives firmness and
precision to the action of the nervous system, with
power to endure fatigue and resist disease.
Magnetic Citrate of Iron is new and peculiar,
differing from the ordinary Soluble Citrate, in
containing an equiolent of Protoxide of Iron, in
plaee of the Ammonia, it is neutral, tasteless,
without astiingency. as prompt and energetic as
the Chloride, and unlike that, induces no local in
flammatory action or headache.
Calisava Bark is pre-eminent among vegetable
tonics, baa DO equal as a strengthens or restora
