the couulry of the Upjer Rhine, about the
middle of the last century. The life of deceas
ed was a bright example to those around him.

and a Christian in the practical, as well as the
furxntl, sense of the word. He was the friend
of the poor, and his charity was always freely
bestowed. Having lived the life of a rue man
au l a thorough Ghri-tian, we doubt not that
his last words to his pastor, "safe /torn?," were
but prophetic of his own translation to a home

to the druegists for gratuitous distribution, wherein
may bo learned the directions for its use, and some
of the remarkable euros which it has made when
all other remedies had failed to afford relief. Those
cases are purposely taken from all sections of the
country, in order that every reader may have ac- !
cess to some one who can speak to liini of its bone- \
fits from personal experience. Scrofula depresses
the vital energies, and thus leaves its victims far i
more subject to disease and its fatal results than j
niehcidthycgnstituticns, Kmc it tend? tp shorten. .
and does greatly shorten, the average duration of
human life. The vast importance ot 1 tnes6 con- '
sidorations has led us to spend years in perfecting ;
a remedy which is adequate to its cure. Thia wo j
now offer to the public under the name of AYEB'S i
SARSArABiLL.t, although it is composed of ingre
dients, some of which exceed the best of Sars.z.
pariila in alterative power. By its aid you may
protect yourself from the suffering and >ic nger of
these disorders. Purge out the foul corruptions
that rot and fester in tho blood, purge out tho
causes of disease, and vigorous health will follow.
By its peculiar virtues this remedy stimulates the
vital functions, and thus expels the distempers
which lurk within the system or burst out on any
part of it.
We know the public have been deceived I>t
many compounds of Oarsaparilla, that promised
much and did nothing; but they will neither bo
deceived nor disappointed in this. lis virtues have
been proven by abundant trial, anu there remains
no question of its surpassing excellence for the
cure of the afflicting diseases it is intended to
reach. Although under the same name, it is s
very different medicine from any ether which has
been before tho people, and is far more effeetu.d
than any other which has ever been avaiu-'do to
them.

ges of the disease.

known, that we need do no mure tliau assure tho
public that its quality ia kept up to tho best it ever
