HOLLOW AY'S OINTMENT.
Extraordinary Military Salve.
Long marches, sore and sjifl joints, blistered and
inflamed feet, all these, the Soldier must endure
Motbets, remember this, when your sons are grasp- ,
ing their muskets to meet danger, think what re- |
lief a single pot of this all healing and cooling
Salve will give to the one you love when far away 1
from home and friends. It hardens and makas j
tough the feet so thatthey can endure great fatiguh j
It sooths and relieves the idflamed aud still joirts
leave them suple, strong snd vigorous, while for, j
Sabre Cuts and Gunshot Wounds,
Jt stands unequalled, removing and preventing eve
ry vestive of inflamation and gently drawing the
edges together, it quickly and completely heals the
most frightful wounus.
Wives and Sisters oj Volunteers.
You canuot put into the Knapsrcks of your Hus
bands and Brothers, a more valuable or more neces
sary gif than a supply of this
The lonely sentry walking his rounds at nigh
exposep to drenching rains and chill night air, is
often seized with most VIOLENT PAINSCOUG
and SUFFOCATING HOARSENESS, first symp
toms of QUICK CONSUMPTION, but if supplied
with HOLLOWAY'S PILLS and HOLLOWAY'S OINTMENT,
all danger is averted, a few Pills taken night and
morning, and the Ointment briskly rubbed twice a
day over the throat and chest will remove the SE
VEREST PAINS and atop the most distressing and
DANGEROUS COUGH. Therefore we say fo the
whole Army,
Soldier's Attention!
See to your own health, do not trust to the Aimy
supplies although most valuable. Thee PILLs and
OINTMENT have been thoroughly tested, they are
the only remedies used in the European Camps and
Barracks, for over forty years Doctor Holloway has
supplied all the Armies in Europe, and during the
CRIMEAN CAMPAIGN he established a depot at
Balaclava, (or the exclusive sale of these GREAT
REMEDIES, many a time his special Agent there
has sold over a ton in weight of the Ointment in a
single day. These terrible and rata! enemies ol the
SOLDIERS IN CAMP,
Diarrhea, Dysentery, Scurvy, Sores A" Scrof
ulous Eruptions,
al disappear like a charm before these PILLS and
OINTMENT, and now while the cry ringsthrougb
uutthe land,
TO ARMS ! TO ARMS ! !
Do not let these brave men perish by disease,
place in their hands these PRECIOUS REMEDIES,
that will enable them to resist the dangerous expo
sures, the Fevers, the Chills, and the wounds which
they cannot avoid, and what is more, cannot fre
quantly get succor in the moment of nepl, whereas
if our brave men have only to put their hands into
their Knapsscksand find a sure remedy there for all
the casualties of the battle field. How many thou
sand of lives would thus be saved who would oth
erwise perish before relief could be obtained.
CAUTION.—None are genuine unless the
words "HOLLOWAY, Nuw YORK AND LONDON," ere
discernible as a Water-mart in every leaf of the
book of directions around each pot or box; the
same may be plainly seen by kulJing the ft if to the
tight. A handsome reward will be given to any one
rendering such information as may lead to'tbe de.
tection of auy party or parties counterfeiting the
medicines or vending the same, knowing them to be
spurious.

Induced by the extensive sale and universal pop

the flood gates of Nostrums in the shape of poor

Beware of the innumerable array of Alcoholic

stead of curing, only aggravate disease, and leave
the disappointed sufferer in despair.

Although not disposed to fuvor or recommend Pat
ent medicines in general, thiougb distrast of their
ingredients and effects, I yet know uf no sufficient
reason why a man may not testify to the beuefit bs
believes himself to have received from any simple
preparatkin, in the hope that he may thus contrib
ute to the benefit of others.
1 do this the more readily in regard to Hoofland's
German Bitters, prepared by Dr. C. M. Jackson, ot
this city, because I was prejudiced against them for
tmany years, under the impression that they were
cheiefly an alcoholic mixture. I am indebted to my
friend Robert Shoemaker, Esq., tor the removal of
this prejudice bv proper tests, and for encourage
ment to try them, when suffering from great and
o]ng continued debility. The use of three bottles
of these Bitters, at the beginning of the present
year, was followed by evident relief and restoration
to a degree of bodily and mental vigor which I bad
not felt lor six months before, and had almost de,
spaired of regaining. I therefore thank God and sty
friend l'er directing me to the use of them.

DR. JACKSON —DEAR SIR : —1 have been frequently

of different kinds of medicines, but regarding the

full conviction that, for general debility of the sys

those who suffer from the above causes,
