llollowny'M Pills anil Oinliiieiil.
All who have friends anil relatives in the army
or navy, should take especial care, that they be am
ply supplied with these Pills and Ointment ; and
where the brave soldiers and sailors have neglected
to provide themselves with them, no better present
ran be sent tbem by their friends. They have been
proved to he the soldier's never-failing friend in the
hour of need.
Coughs and Colds Effecting Troops,
Will be speedily relieved and ellectually cured by
using these admirable medicines, and by paying pro
per attention 'o the directions which are attached
to each pot or box.
Sick Headache and IVant of jJppelile, Inciden
tal to Soldiers,
Those feelings which so sadden us, usually arise
from trouble or annoyances, obstructed perspira -
tion, or eating and drinking whatever is nnwhole
some, thus disturbing the healthl'ulfaction of the
iver and stomach. These organs must be reliev
ed, if you desire to be well. The pills, taking ac
aording to the printed instructions, will quickly
roduce a healthy action in both liver and stomach,
n d as a natural consequence a clear bead and good
p petite.
Weakness or Debility induced by ot* Fatigue,
Will soon disappear by the use ot these invaluable
pills, and the soldier will quickly acquire additional
strength. Never let the bowels be either confined 1
or unduly acted upon It may seem strange that
Holloway's Pills should be terommended for l>ys- j
ntery and Flux, many persons supposing that tbey
would increase the relaxation. This is a great mis
take, tor these pills will correct the liver and stom
ach and thus remove all the acrid humora from the
system. This medicine will give tone and vigor to
tbo whole organic system however deranged, while
health and strength follow as a matter of course.
Nothing will stop the relaxation of the bowels so
sure as this famous medicine.
Volunteers Attention ! Indiscretions of Youth
Sores and ulcers, blotches and swellings, can with
certainty be radically cured if the pills are taken
night and morning, and the ointment be freely used
as stated in the printed instructions. If treated in
any other ma"ner they dry up in one part to break
out in another. Whereas this ointment will remove
the humora from the system and leave the patient
a vigorous and healthy man. It will require a lit
tle perseverance in Sad rases to insure a lasting
cure.
For \Vounds\eithcr occasioned by the. Bayonet,
Sabre or the Bullet, Sores or Bruises,
To which every soldier and sailor are liable, there
are no medicines so safe, sure and convenient as
k olloway's Pills and Ointment. The poor wounded
and almost dying sufferer might have his wounds
dressed immediately, if he would only provide him
•elf with this matchless Ointment, which should
be thrust into th wound and smeared all round it,
then covered with a piece of linen from bis knap
sack and compressed with a handkerchief. Taking
night and morning C or 8 pills, to cool the system
and prevent inflammation.
Every soldier's knapsack and seaman's ches
bould be provided with these raluoabjeeamedies .lr
OAUTIGN.—None ire genuine units* the
words "HOLLOWAY, NKW YORK AMI LONDON," are
discernible as a Water-mark in every leal' of the
book of directions around each pot or 'ox; the
sar" may be plainly seen by nulling (.'• n if to the

rendering such information as may lead to the de,

reason why a man may not testify to the bi-nefit bo
believes himself to have received from any simple

I do this the more readily in regard to lloofiand's
German Bitters, prepared by Dr. C. M. Jackson, of
this city, because I was prejudiced against them for
tm ny years, under the impression that they were
en. i.-flv an alcoholic mixture. I am indebted to my
fri-r.d Robert Shoemaker, Ksi]., tor the removal of
this prejudice bv proper tests, and for encourage
ment to try them, when suffering from great and
o|iig continued debility. The use of three bottles
of these Bitters, at the beginning of tho present
year, was followed by evident relief and restoration
to a degree of bodily and mental vigor which 1 bad
not felt for six months before, and had almost de
