We live much pleasure in informing the public that ole of our contributors for tbe coming year, will b our old friend and colleague THEODORE S. FAY. We confess to uncommon pride and pleasure i n this renewal of intercourse with the friend and in timate of oilier days, and we look to be felici tated for it, by the established readers wdo consti tute tie family of the HOMK JOURNAL. We have in preparation, also, for tbe coming year, several VERY THRILLING STORIES- Some of tbe ablest of living pens are engaged for us in translating from the Trench anil German and our own original narrative writers are among the first. We are foitunate, also, i n travellers gone abroad who are literary contributors, and we anticipate for our readei s a most agreeable surprise in the quality of these Sketches of Travels and Adventures. But the future of our journal, which we have not yet mentioned, is perhaps the most recherche of all its prominence as THE EXPONENT OF REFINED SOCIETY. Our correspondence with the leaders of fashion, in New Yoik and the other capitals, is especially valuable in this inspect, keeping us unmistakably informed of the changes and progress of what is commonly understood by the "gay world." As WP have taken some pains to arrange the resources for this new feature, we speak eonfidently of its promise of entertainment to our large circle of read ers. In this department, foreign journals are end lessly inventive j and, with our industrious ran sacking of these, we are sure to select, for the pe culiar taste to which we minister, a most relishing banquet. TEienCdifors will give the Journal their vonst int attention, as before. Of tbe goings on, in the eventful scenes and places of the country, Mr. Willis's pen will give photographs as usual. Geneial Morris's Songs anif Sketches will he embroidered on the thread of the passing moment, as they have always been. Some of the best intellects of thp land are en'i-ted for us, also, and we think we may promise to hold our place . the journal which best enables TIIE FAMILY TO keep convers ant with the world.
