STATISTICS OF LIFE AND DEATH.
FIG I,'EES DO NO'" LIE.
W'cliavo faith in satisfies. They Give the
doath-blow to all false doctrine, empiricism in
•ienje, and blew f-k) -high the fine spun theories
of unpntGH'tt! i> lun - Modioli satisfiesareof spe
cial importance. Tlioy teach us to estimate at
tb'o'i: - j u ,:t value the curati vepowers of the druys,
which'arc the stereotypes of the "profession.''
what is their value? Figures which do not
lie. show that in all dangerous complaints the
"regular practice" of the "faculty" loses at
least as many as it saves. But then the doctors
tell us that those who die are "incurables." If
this be E0 > how is it that sonuiry victims of the
iiiost virulent internal and external disorders,
whom the profession had given up. have recov
ered through a persevering use of Ilolloway's
Fills and Holloway's Ointment? There' can be
no doubt about the fact, we opine, and we want
somebodv to account for it. To our plain mind,
it appears that if chronic dyspepsia cannot he
cured by the doctors, and is cured with unncr
rin" certainly by Holloway's Pill, that the lat
ter remedy is worth the whole medical stock of
the faculty, as means of relieving that complaint
So again, if a "given up" ease of scrofula or
ervsipclas becomcs|rnpidly convalescent under
the action of the Ointment, wo cannot escape
the conclusion that il is the true specific for ex
ternal disordeis, and that "regular phrainaco
peeiifcontains nothing that will compare with
it as a mcanSjOf subduing that class of mala
dies.
This is a good logic, we believe. If any cav
il at it, we will admit their demuners when
they can show us a better basis for argument
than wets. — "State Gazette." 1
