!Ttie above work is commended to the tavorable
notice of clergymen, and those having charge of

j It is about nine feet long and six teet wide, co

It has been constructed frem t e most reliable

aid to those engaged 111 lecturing on the Holy Land,
j or ir. imparting instruction to school classes on the
1 subject to which it refers,
it aims to give an exact idea of the city as it ap
peared in ancient times. It is taken as a "birds
eye" or l -b..l!oon" view, tire beho iter being, in
I imagination, placed at a considerable elevation, su
as to take a comprehensive view of the city and of
; the whole country for some dislance around.
'i'he View is accompanied with an Outline Key,

This is a Weekly Religious Paper, published at

it is designed f r Parents, Teachers, and all

A portion of the SUI::HIP-S.-HOOL TIMRS is occu

same reasons, members of Bible-classes, and the

The SUNDAY-SCHOOL TIMES has every week a re

■ all classes of Christians.
Besides a large amount of grneral religious intel- :

important CONVENTIONS of Sunday-school teach- ;
ers. ft discusses the questions which most inter- !

various methods of religious training for the young, '
the means of gaining the attention and the a.'F-c

in every conceivable manner, arid have proved
themselves to be the most satisfactory time piece;
ever offered to the public.
This result has been brought about by a stiict ap
plication of mechanical science to the construction '
of the watch from its very inception, rendeiing it,
when finished
MATIIEMAT[CALLY CORRECT,
in all proportions, and.necessarily as perfect a time
keeper as it i- possible to make.
The Company have tested their Watches, in
many instances, by actual daily noting, and the re
sult of this test has been that they hive exbsbi'ed
a rate equal in regularity to the be;t marine chro
nometer.
N. B.— We have jSf introduced a
MEIV STYLE' OF WATCH
elaboiately finisher!, and thinner than any we have
heretofore produced, with several improvements
calculated to secure the greatest accuracy of perfor
mance, and to prevpnt the usual accidents and de
rangements to which foreign watches are liable.

NEW YORK. Oct. 13, 1859.
Mr. R. E ROBBINS, Treas. Am. Watch Co. :
Dear Sir:—The American Watch, No. 9210.
presented me by the New York Chess Club, proved
to be a most reliable and accurate time-keeper—al
most unnecessarily so tor ordinary purposes. It is
now nearly five months since it came into my pos
session, and during that period its variation liom
standard time has been but a trifle more than ha'f a
minute. The following is a record of its perfor
mance. It was set June_3d correctly :
June 15, fast-1 seconds. "Aug. 15, fast 18 seconds.
